Please no "all Spess Marines are gay" comments. If you feel that way don't click on these threads and troll.

I love the Space Wolves attitude and how they hate the Inquisition lol. However the Howling Griffons are my favorite Chapter.

Dark Angels or Raven Guard. I don't have much love for the Loyalists, but these are the ones that I hate the least, so they do count as favorites - Dark Angels for their secrets and capability for betrayal, and Raven Guard for stealth

I've been liking The Raptors lately. Seems they're the actual "reasonable Marines". They actually were camo. So by extention I voted for The Raven Guard. Plus their Primarch had the power of psychic invisibilty which is pretty awesome!

White Scars are awesome just because of how ridiculous their concept is.

I mean, they're Mongols. Not Mongol-inspired the way Ultramarines are Greek-inspired, but a straight up expy. Only instead of being a screaming Asiatic horde mounted on steppe horses and firing bows, they're a screaming Asiatic horde mounted motorbikes and firing machine guns. I don't know who came up with the background for the White Scars, but I hope they got a raise for it.

Runners-up would be the Mentor Legion, Imperial Fists, Ultramarines, Salamanders and Space Sharks in no particular order. All of them are chapters I would happily field on tabletop if I had unlimited time and funds.

I don't particularly like any of the original legions, even if I have collected Ultramarines for several years doesn't mean I really like them!
I just like blue armour, and with red shoulder pad trims.

Well, the Romans themselves were Greek inspired, so...

I think all Space Sharks have the "beakie" helmuts. That'd be hard to pull off.

Salamanders. They seem (to me) to be the only ones doing what they do in order to defend the Imperium, rather than the honor of the Emperor. A subtle difference, but to me an important one. Of course I didn't realize this until I decided to play Salamanders, a decision which was made SOLELY on how easy they were to paint, and how good it looked. I like the way they look on my shelf, so I decided to play them. Only then did I read into their background more, and decide that I really like them.

Runners up would be the White Scars, Imperial Fists, Ultramarines, Raven Guard, Space Wolves, Dark Angels, Blood Angels, and Iron Hands, in that order. Not a big fan of anything on that list from Dark Angels on down. The DA have great models, but I dislike their background. The bottom two I could take or leave.

Wow. Triple post. Impressive.

Blood Angels - even though I collect Space Wolves - as they seem to be the least flawed (in intention) Legion and have been dudes from start to finish. Particularly Sanguinus.

They were there on Terra, after Terra and before Terra. They worked hard throughout the Great Crusade and they were loyal from start to finish. The Black Rage only adds character and depth IMHO.

I think, in the current Imperium, that Space Wolves are dudes as they fight for the people, not the Beurocrats. But as a Legion they were too brutal and flawed. Now though, they're good. Standing up for what the Emperor wanted. They just don't do it in the most pretty manner - hence some people (fools IMHO) believe they're barbarians.

Salamanders are truly men of the people. More so than the Space Wolves. A Space Wolf would never left a finger to help a Fenrisian but all Salamanders do is help their people.

Yea sorry about the 3 posts my computer was slow. I do not know alot about space wolevs. I have only read one book named A Thousand Son but I am going to read Prospero Burns next which will tell about the Space Wolves. But based by that book the Space Wolves were brutal. They accused of Thousand Sons of Heresy even though they also had physkers, they accused Thousand Sons on Heresy beacsue of the mutation but they also mutated into wolves. There is no wolves on Fenres.

Based upon the poll this is simply for the founding Legions that stayed Loyal. Crimson Fists are a seconding founding, which is why they aren't there

Imperial fists and dark angels - dead heat for me plenty of fluff and character , couldn't do a bland army

Sisters of battle also have a pretty full back story

True, back then they weren't all there - admittedly they were simply following orders, they are a honed tool of destruction during the HH - however, now I believe they are one of the greatest chapters around as now, they utterly do what is right. Albeit not in the most pretty way, but they still do what's right.

Crimson Fists is a Chapter not a Legion. Didn't want to do a poll for all 1000 chapters.

Me too. Also surprised how many votes the Space Wolves are getting! I guess SWs are the most popular legion.
