First post. I have read the rules. I expect I'll be enjoying my stay here.

Hello to all. I'm 42, have been playing RPGs since the early 80's and an avid WFB/40K (plus all attendant games as they came out, like Space Hulk, Epic, Blood Bowl, etc) since 1990. Sadly, in 1999 I took a "break" that lasted 11 years. Last fall a friend of mine made me promise I'd play him a "one off" game of WFB (my Chaos Undivided vs. his Chaos Daemons) just to see if I still had any interest in it. That "one off" has plunged me back into the most brutally expensive and time consuming addiction I have ever experienced. I am very happy to be back.

I collect and play Undead & Chaos for WFB, CSM, Orks, IG, (and still very interested in my old Genestealer Cult) for 40K. I'm more interested in having a good time than winning by any means possible and I enjoy the modeling aspect as much as (if not sometimes more than) gaming.

I live in Central Vermont USA (aka middle of nowhere) and to date I've only had a few games. There is a shop about 40 miles north of here but I don't get out of the mountains much. Most of my collection is the same stuff I had before, but thanks to eBay, GW mail order, and a few good trades w/ my friend I've been brought up to somewhat modern times.

A *lot* has changed since I've been gone. Some of it it for the better, such as they fixed the 5th edition Herohammer problem, and I finally over being upset about 3rd edition 40K rules. Ha. One thing I'm baffled by is why does my Ork army suddenly look like a bunch of heavily armed Grots? The new Orks are zoggin' HUGE! What have they been eating, Carnifexes?

I'm hoping to connect with people here, share ideas and opinions, share pics of new projects, etc. I'm not aware of any gaming "community" in the immediate area of where I live so I'm not getting enough "game talk". I took the time to read through quite a few threads on Dakka before joining and I'm looking forward to becoming involved here.

As much as it sucks not living near a store for gaming, the mountains of Vermont is a pretty good place to be far away from a store.

Be sure to ask for grot assisstance when utilizing the cockpit-side lavatory as our resident SQUIG can sometimes bite passengers. If afraid heights, DO NOT look down when using the tail-side latrine. If VIOLENT turbulance is encountered upon this journey we advice you to cover your head with the nearest suitable object, as repairs have not yet been fully completed in general. If evacuation is required, please make your way onto either of the three wings and allocate yourself a ROKKIT. Beware of the JET ENJINS located behind these weapon/emergency escape racks.
