I was hoping you all could share some nasty apocalypse stuff you've seen or used. I have sn apocalypse game coming up and I want to be on the look out...

Here's 1 I know; chaos altar + fateweaver + 50+ marines with icon of tzeentch sitting on top of a vital objective.

the tricks for appoc are basically the same as normal games, but bigger.

the Space marines Masters of the Chapter formation is nasty because it gives you a bunch of Stratigims for Free.

Titan Hammer formations are awsome for getting more then 1 Vortex grenade. 1 Stratigim, +1 for every Formation.

if playing as Nids the Ability to place some "interesting" terrain features down is pretty cool.

the Smoke cloud stratigim is good if you plan on Rushing his lines in fragile transports.

Camo nets on Basalisks stuck in a corner is NOT funny

Minefields are hilarious against orks and nids

I like flank marching Super Heavies into their back lines, while a nice sized assault force comes at the front.

1 Ethereal for every Tau unit. Everyone is fearless. If one dies everyone takes a leadership test and gets buffed in close combat. Every unit also gets to re-roll morale.

50 units? Take 50 Ethereals. No force organization FTW!

Grundz, that doesent have to be in apoc for that trick to work.

Tau vs white scars at ard boyz.

Scars hold in reserve.

Tau player blocks off entire board with a line of kroot.

Tau player wins as the enemy cant move on to the board.

Someone has pics of this somewhere.

Endless Swarm + Trygon = 24" radius circle of area denial + a hoard of gaunts n' gants everywhere your opponent doesn't want them.

Parking an inquisitor and 2 mystics next to a reaver titan with D weapons and with a disruptor beacon put all deepstrikers nearby the inquisitor to get d-weaponed. For real insult to injury add inquisitor w/ 2 mystics x 10 for 320 points.

Putting a KFF inside a stompa for a huge bubble.

Lash plus vortex grenades

Fateweaver next to angrath the unbound.

Take a Stormlord. 20 Models can shoot out. Take 5 full squads of devastators, or maybe enough guard heavy weapon teams. Laugh manically as you move 6" a turn firing 20 heavy weapons out of the hatch. For extra fun, load up a doom of Malan'tai to create a moving deathzone around your tank.

that...is ugly indeed.... especially the titan one.

whats funny about the lash and vortex thing is there's nothing stopping you from bringing 20 lash sorcerers. I lashed half a bug player's army into 1 vortex grenade last time I played apocalypse.

Does the transport rule over ride the move and fire heavy weapons for the passengers? Superheavies can move and fire everything, but I don't think the passengers can.

But that is not how it works. The Stormlord does not give the passengers Relentless, so if it moves, they can not fire heavy weapons.

Considering the fact that I asked a few post up if it over rid the normal rules for shooting, and no one asnwered so you could assume NO, I am not familiar with them. How about you state a rule instead of asking questions you already know the answer to?

If no one has mentioned it, Trasnporting a big mek with a force field inside a superheavy is somewhat horrible.
