what is the most annoying thing that entails playing 40k WhFB or LOTR from counting dice to putting up models to your opponents smirk remarks spill the beans people

I can't help but think this won't end well.

When you get done painting your first unit of fire warriors.
You place them on the table right behind your Kroot.
One drop pod comes down with a dreednot in it, Heavy flamer.

Say bye bye to your freshly painted unit.

Not as sad as it is funny but still a little annoying krootox riders for the win lol.

for me? it's those moments where your opponent just says 'lets end this here. I've got 50 lasgun shots, and You've ten marines.' by my account, thats 2.5 hits per model, and only 1 model amongst 8. thats definatly not a full squad gone, and even then, I'm only gonna loose 3.

Yeah I hate that too, they see the huge number of dice I have to roll, and just remove the models. It's just unsportsmanlike: if we all did that then there would be no need for dice, we would just be always removing our models all the time.

Two things, one obviously 'outweights' (pardon my pun) the other.

#1: Unnecessary rules contests. I honestly believe that if a game is being played by two players who understand the rules of 40k better then their natural spoken language, you could play a 7 turn 2000 point game in roughtly 45 minutes. Its the constant bickering/codex checking/ exact measuring/ dice manipulation (even between friends) that make some games take miles longer then they should...

#2: Trying to get "Drazor, Master of bladesFace-plants" (A Dark Eldar special character) to stand on even the SLIGHTEST of incline... (in the 2k point game mentioned above, 30 minutes of the approx 45 game time would be spent doing this fething action!)

AKA Drazor, dead metal model just to weight the base down in my case.

In my case, there's two things:

1) People who refused to charge there mind even when presented with empirical evidence (i.e. chapter and verse)

2) People picking up models without asking... when they are still involved in the game.

in defense of people who don't bother rolling and just remove models... when your 10 man nob squad decked out with power klaws and a warboss charges my 5 man tactical squad, and I kill nothing, and your choppas alone kill 2 of my men, do we REALLY need to roll the 15 str9 power klaw attacks that hit on 3's? we both know my marines are dead :(

or when your 5 gaunts are locked in hand to hand with my 25 marines + a captain + a librarian... do we need to roll that, either? not really. its obvious the whole squad will be wiped out.

For me, it's when I see some models which are expertly painted, beautiful shading, a complete work of art... but then I notice they've added Warning Stripes to the model.

I don't.. why. Is there an 8th High Lord or Terror - the Grand Marshall of 'Adeptus Health & Safety'?? WHY ARE THERE WARNING STRIPES ON A TITAN?! IS THERE A LEGAL REQUIREMENT WARNING ORKS FROM TRYING TO CLIMB IT?! WHY ARE YOU WARNING PEOPLE TO AVOID CONTACT WITH A CHAINSWORD OR POWERFIST?! DO THE IRON WARRIORS HAVE A LEGAL DEPARTMENT? WERE THEY NEARLY WIPED OUT BY A CLASS ACTION?!?

I hate i when I just spent 3+ hours painting a model and then picking it up to examine it only to realize that I had some paint on my thumb which is now on the model. That, and when the primer gets that charred texture and really puts a hurting on my brushes! Oh, also can't forget when you get metal models that don't fit together the way they should, now matter how you try to git it.

I will always roll for attacks, regardless of what the math says...

Other day i had SEVEN attacks that needed ONE 3 and I would have killed the guy...

Btw that is probably one of the most annoying things that can happen, when the odds are so stacked in your favor that you think there is no way for it to go wrong...

I look at it like this. The Imperium is incredibly technologically backward despite the tech they actually have access to. So much so that they've deified technology.
Hazard stripes appear on a lot of machinery, so it stands to reason (for a crazy person) that they would have attributed meaning to them beyond their practical purpose. Hazard stripes are now symbolic of technology, and applied in the same way as runes or sacred text.

So there.

I hate taking models out of their cases and deploying them...it's kept me from playing tons of games because I wont pull out my models for a boring game against scrubs.

Most annoying thing for me is usually the other player. I know some people who use counts as waaay to leniently. Now, I do have alot of scratchbuilds (8 Drop Pods, 4 rhinos, Land Raider, Thunderhawk), but I put alot of time and effort into mine so that they are at least recognizible as the vehicle they are supposed to represent, but Ive seen people use McDonalds drink cups as drop pods (the big 44oz ones) and proxy most of their army. when this continues to occur, I refuse to play against them.

I go to GREAT lengths to make my stuff WYSIWYG, and I think everyone else should as well! (Tourney-wise anyway)

I am always baffled by anyone who gets really hot headed over a game. Heck, I have a terrible 40k record. Doesn't bug me at all really.

Base weapons (those that are default) Kinda bothers me *but I generally dont say anything*, and NO I dont expect you to glue (but have the blasted thing at least!) Im talking more about the "Oh, this SOB rhino has the mega donkey punch kannon and 3 lascannons" If your tank/ model is sooooo damn uber kewl, show some pride in it and .... well..... show it!!

Like I said tho.... For fun is fine, I dont even mind the old green surfboard army guys proxied for lightinig claw termies!!! If youre going to try to WIN FOR REAL (prizes) have the thing proper.

On a side note, I give a less whether or not its painted! (Odd, no?)

I hate people that play Apocalypse and bicker for 3-hours about weather or not a vortex grenade can eat a building or not. (That was a pain in the rock) Me and the outer 5 people were sitting outside weighting for the next turn.
