Once agian i seek the help of the painting gurus walking around. The paint scheme for my csm is going to be black and gold/bronze. But I actually think I am going to paint my HQ in a white. I really really like the white that is used to paint the protectorate of menoth in warmachine. But I am not very sure as how to get that off smooth creamy white. Cream is that the color? Anyways any input would be great.

Explaining what to use with GW paints would also make things much easier on myself.

Thanks guys!

White and Dark Sand.

Or for those of you heathens who'd rather GW's inferior paints over Vallejo, skull white and bleached bone.

Experiment until satisfied.

P3 has a colour called Menoth White Base and Menoth White Highlight that would work. The colours take a few layers but they turn out nice and smooth.

I always use GW paints as thats what my FLGS has and a strongly belive in support stores I hang out in and are ran well so they almost always get my money.

So what a base of skull white then a dry brush of bleached bone? Would a wash over all that help to give it that cream look? Maybe some sort of brown wash? Or would that just kill the white I have never painted white before not sure how it works.

Haha oops! Anyways Ill try that and work with it and go from there.

I ussually come out alot better if i at least have some base to go off of. Not a fan of going in blind.

But that's the best way to paint! You'll never know until you screw up hideously or succeed tremendously!

Half the gak I do I don't even remember how I did it, and it still looks great. You've got to make every model an experiment!

base with dehneb stone. Apply a first layer of bleach bone, drybrush / high light (depending on skill) with 1:1 bleach bone and skull white, extreme highlights in white.

If you want it to have a bit more of a brown / sepia feel, wash carefully with watered down gryphon sepia.
