Hi there all! I am starting to build a high elf army for WFB, as I like the feel of the high elves, and enjoy the way they play.
However, I cannot stand the cone head look of most of the models. What would you suggest to solve the 'cone head' look?

For plastics I was thinking of buying wood elf heads and putting them on high elf bodies.
Are there any other suggestions? Are there different modeling companies that might make better looking high elf models in 28mm scale?

Thanks!

As far as starting off an army goes, the upcoming blood island release looks excellent value even when you cut out the skaven (but why would you?).

One issue with doing this though would be the fact the models come with heads moulded on. However you could go and chop the heads off and replace them to save some cash and get some exclusive models!

I'd recommend wood elf heads. Check out the 'Existing Ads' section in the 'Services' Tab here on Dakka for some bitz sites.

@Eledamris: any chance of an update on your duel any time?

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

I would consider buiying seperate packs of metal heads for fistorical miniatures. Greek helmets would probably do just keep a look out for beards.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

Yup, almost complete. I'm actually working on the display base as we speak.

Also, for the High Elf options, I agree that Greek heads work out really well. In fact, my entire High Elf army is done in a Spartan theme, with all the spearmen having been converted from parts of 7 different models each. I used the heads from the hoplite Dogs of War regiment.
