I have a dread from the assault on black reach set. I converted him around to be more of a Hellfire dreadnought, but I really want him to be a ven. Still debating the points cost, but if you happen to have an idea or have already done this, im not sure how to convert him around. Just post pics or ideas, and I'll see if I have the bits. Thank you!

what's a hellfire dread? a shooty one? i'd say add on tons of scrolls and purity seals to make him look more venerable (as well as beefing up the engine as the ven ones have longer exhaust pipes).

Yeah, I think that the term 'Hellfire' comes from the DOW computer game.
They have two tl lascannons iirc.
The prob is that all dread kits come with right handed lascannons but no left.
Forgeworld make a left handed LC but it is a mkV as opposed to the mkIV right handed LCs from the other kits.
It's gonna look pretty odd mixing the two types on one model imo.
Looks like a visit to the Bitz Barn or Dakka's Swap Shop. Look for two right plastic LC arms and get choppin!
Making the Dread a Venerable Dread is the easy bit. Just bling it out a bit with CoD pieces, purity seals, snazzy bits and a suitably ornate paintjob!
EDIT: Ignore me, i'm on drugs!
Hellfire Dreads have TL LC and a Missle Launcher. This combo can be made straight from the Dread boxed set or from FW arms.

the 'Hellfire' is one with the missile launcher instead of a ccw.
But yeah just add some scrolls, seals, armor and some extra bits and it could work.

Well what i was thinkin, was sorta cut a bit out of the cockpit thingy (or is it sarcophagus) and place a helmet there, then pile the seals and scrollls.

Cutting out the sacrophagus and adding a head is possible. I did a variant on that here:
I put on a separate front made from card and plastic strips. Another way to go is using a front of a marine torso and aligning it with the dreads box.
Ohterwise, as stated earlier, just bling it up.

Savis...you just hit the nail on the head. Different head, but essentially the same shape I was thinking on the cockpit.
