Having been thoroughly absorbed by dakka now for quite a while, I have a suggestion that would greatly improve my experience navigating around dakka... whether it would be of general use is for wiser minds than mine.

One thing that is continuously annoying is that as when I look at a thread (ending up at the bottom of course), I have to scroll all the way back to the top before being able to navigate through my preferred system to the next topic of interest (i.e. the series of choices beginning with "Search" and ending with "Private Messages" on the upper right part of the screen. I imagine if you had a really fast system it wouldn't be much of an issue, but for those of us with slower systems, it's a real pain and can cause significant delays as photos refresh and refresh as we scroll up.

It would be tremendously helpful to have a second copy of those commands at the lower right part of the screen (at the bottom of the last post in any forum) so that when I get caught up reading a forum, I can navigate directly to my next target of interest (down by the page selection bar).

Thanks for your consideration,

Gitsplitta

You may want to upgrade your computer a little if scrolling up and down a page causes issues.

I would recommend something along the lines of this:

LOL! Thanks for the suggestion.

It's only the pic heavy threads that cause the delays... but in general having to scroll all the way to the top does detract from the time I have to paint and blog. Yeahhhh..... that's the ticket!!

There's not really a good place for them. Any reason you cant just hit the 'home' key on your keyboard instead of scrolling up?

Try using the mobile theme (switch theme) as that is much lighter on slower machines and runs extremely fast on my phone and underpowered netbook. It might help with scroll speed if the home key does not help.

Check out our new, fully plastic tabletop wargame - Maelstrom's Edge, made by Dakka!

In your head, screwing with your thoughts...

You know if you look at the buttons on the top right of every post, there's a little 'up' arrow button right between 'Multi-Quote' and the 'Report' icon. This button, if clicked, will take you to the top of the page.
