That's bugging me, does the yellow look green to you guys?
It is an opaque yellow too, if it were translucent yellow paint, I could see the blue looking green.

Stellar work! absolutely amazingly good stuff! when you have the originals next to your terrain it just looks perfectly matched I thought the first one was actually z shaped peice I was looking at before i realised you were holding the print one in front! when i start work on my own I'll be re reading all through this thread and possibly pestering you with questions! I hope you're ready for it? but it's really your own fault for producing things like that which inspire us to make our own! because, well, we want stuff that damn cool!

I think it's the light Dave. I don't think we are getting true color in the photo. Even if it is off, it looks fantastic and a little weathering would hide any descrepancies.......

Maybe slightly greenish, but it won't look that way if you aren't putting the two side by side. I suspect it's the dark color showing through the yellow that's doing it, remember most yellows are more translucent than other colors so what's underneath makes a big difference. I always do a white undercoat, then yellow, then the black stripes.

I do black first, because it is easier to touch up black stripes than the yellow.

I don't actually see green. I see brighter yellow than the cardstock. I think it needs weathering is all, like it has been eroded down and the yellow paint has been ground into the metal, duller maybe but the same actual hue......?
But remember, I have no idea how to paint. My opinion may be completely off base.....

Dave : Now you mention it ……. no way does it look green I cant see it my self ……. Hell if anything it is to yellow as the Necromunda stripes look almost orange at times …. and I even checked our road markings and your are more yellow than them

Why don't you paint the black, set up the stripes... then give it a white undercoat before adding the yellow?? That should solve it.

and mate... i have to add to the yellow discussion here my 2c... yes it is not a rich yellow...yes it looks a bit cold... BUT... i think that is the essence of a hazard stripe... what do you expect a hazard striped space should look like??? comfy??? hevanes forbid! i looks like it is meant for a construction site...or for a murder scene ... thus it looks menacing... wasps use it to frighten predators... if they had a warmer yellow...birds would eat them more often... i think that is a fitting and convincing colorchoice for that purpose... stop that second guessing man! or you get the LD award medal...
and lets face it.. after seeing that brass and copper all over your terrain... when will you succumb to the steampunk??? it is shining through i think...the spirit of steamy punk...!!!
and to your suply drop...those are the bending pliers? the ones that were on that sale from micro-mark.... what is their purpose...*raises eyebrow*
and these lil spanners/ wrenches? i think we are in for a serious treat soon...

Nah, its not the hobby, it's work. Really (I mean really) stressing me past my limits. I require many uninterrupted hours of riveting therapy, or a new job.
Thanks vik, that is red rust weathering powder, brushed on dry, then wetted with the ab Then I sprayed on spots of rust airbrush color.

Great piece.
Do you have plans to fill out the base a bit?
I think a few barrels or a little debris around the bulkheads and on the base would add to a more lived in look.
