Did GW change their glue in the last 4 years? I just ran out and got some more. It wasn't the stuff i'm used to. it didn't say citidel or have the pic of the red ork face with checkers around it. It was smaller, with a blue games workshop label. It doesn't react well with zip kicker and doesn't work as well imo. Did i miss the citidel stuff or is it out of production?

so, with minor variations, all superglues are exactly the same. If what you're using now doesnt' work as well, it's much more likely that you got a cruddy bottle (like from the bottom of a vat or something) than that the recipe changed for the worse.
If it's not working out for you, just go to a local Walgreen's or something. I buy my glue $3 for 6 little tubes which last me forever.
That or switch over to a non-superglue adhesive, like plastic cement.

I may have to go to lowes or something and get another brand. what confuses me most is that the accelerant isn't working with this new bottle. it works with the old glue just fine.

I actually use the testors glue that comes in the square plastic container with the easy pour tip thing. It was like 4 bucks and it keeps the glue exactly where I want it. I try to stay away from GW due to their high mark ups. The testors works well for plastics. I wouldnt use it on metals though.

Almost typed a reply about the blue label being plastic glue, then realizing that they switched it since last time I looked. Strange, I didn't think that the stock GW glue could get any worse. You have to hold things for hours to get them to stick!

For $5 you can get Gorilla Glue super glue which is the same stuff as all other super glues just cheaper than most and havent had a problem with it. Ailiros also has a good suggestion. Anything is better than Citadel hobby supplies mostly beacuse it is cheaper.

Gorilla glue? really? that stuff expands like crazy doesn't it? I've used it building stuff out of 2x4s and masonite.
I've heard good stuff about locktite but there's a few different types of it. Can anyone tell me what type?
Thanks for the suggestions, I'm gonna look into them.

No look at the gorrila glue website they make super glue now along with their crazy great stuff expanding glue. I found mine at a local grocery store so i know it should be widely available.

Accelerant? Why does superglue require an accelerant?

I only use GW glue when I have way too much money laying around and don't actually want things glued together....

Superglue doesn't require an accelerant.
Young people with no patience require superglue to have an accelerant as it won't go off quick enough for them.
It weakens the glue bonds anyway (it's to do with the heat released and the time it takes - accelerants reduce the time, so the heat increase is more rapid and can result in burns if care isn't taken).

I always use Loctite gel - never had any issues and it seems to bond better and stronger than 'standard' superglues.

I use Zap-A -Gap medium CA+, dirt cheap and works a treat. I find the best way to work with any CA is to apply a small amount to one component then breath a few times on the bit you are sticking it to. This will result an instant bond if you do it right as CA reacts with moisture.

Yeah I am a bit impatient, but with a pregnant wife and an odd work schedule i can't afford to be holding pieces of plastic together for hours on end. I'm not going to be making anything golden demon quality so . . .
and I have heard that an accelerant weakens the bonds, but i have never had any problem with that on my plastics
