Its not if people post inane, off-topic replies rather than discussing the original topic.

So what's this hobby camp thing?

Basically, you pay £100 and something pounds to spend 5 days at Warhammer world. They give you a battalion or battleforce for an army of your choice, as well as lending you hobby supplies like glue, then you spend the week assembling, painting, and playing with your new force. The guys from the hobby bar help you.

Note that I've never been to one, this is just what I've obseved (@ Sluggaslugga-have a great time dude, and though I won't be attending I will be at WHW on monday and tuesday afternoon. Quietly judging...)

Yay, my 1600th post!

I've never been to a hobby camp, though i guess it wouldn't be a bad thing, though tbh, i should have done it earlier when i was less experienced. But anyways, have a great time!

I'd be there, starting some Iron Warriors, if it weren't for the Price Tag. £190, and that's before Return Travel - either by Train or Plane, both are over £1,000 when I quoted them - and 5-Night Accommodation nearby.

A grand for a return train ticket? What kind of train company were you looking at? :| I live in bonny Scotland myself and go down to Grimsby/Hull area regularly to visit the folks, which isn't that far from Nottingham (2 hours on the train in fact I believe). If I get the tickets a month in advance, its £20 each way. Mind you, its better for some. My aunt, uncle and her kids all play and Warhammer World is their local. *shakes fist* Still, getting cheap tickets only makes the 8-hour train journey each way a tiny bit more bearable...

Well theres only ever been one ticket (including return tickets) offered by a british rail company over 1000 quid, and that was first class. Read it in the paper not so long ago. Perhaps Popsicle ticked the box for 3 star Michelin meal while on the train when he researched this?

Maybe he meant both ways was a grand total?

This discussion is absurd. The mental gymnastics on display here are appalling. The combat familiar gives the DP two attacks with a specific profile. The special rule modifies the DP's attacks, no matter how it got those attacks. The CF's attacks are at AP 2. Anything else is stupid.

Sounds like youll have a good time, best of luck to you. I'm definatly jealous...To have a full week of painting and assembling without anyone bothering me to take them somewhere or cut the grass would be awsome.
