Starting a small tyranid force aiming at 750-1000pts (needed an excuse to finally use my macaragge models)

Was wondering how, if anyone does, do you present battle damage on tyranids?

I would guess you would do a similar theory to damage on guardsmen. Small chips on the carapace but in a lighter shade?

Anyone's ideas or, even better, pictures would be appreciated. I would post a picture of the scheme but due to technical problems there is no camera

The scheme is a red carapace over a green body.

Cheers,

I'd try bullet holes in the carapace.

Try small-arms damage to the carapace with corrorion around the wound due to their acidic blood.

Nids don't take battle damage. They die and a thousand more take their place.

You could do something like Old One Eye, with plasma burns on the "Big Uns" or make them look like they are regenerating.

i did a unit of gaunts with carapace blowing off, so as iv they were under fire and carapace shards pinned but flying off with "goop" behind it and dripping from them

You could try to make some gaunts on fire or burn damage.

With a tyranid army, you quickly realize that there are a shizzton of gaunts to paint and you get so lazy that battle damage just is way to much and not really worth it on a measly gaunt.

Who wants to know?

yeah, but if it's only 750 points then you're gonna want to give the gaunts some attention...

I would only do battle damage on Multi wound models.
Tyrants, Fexes ect..

They have a large enough carapce and surface area to model appropriate heavy weapons fire damage and survive the shot.

As said before, lesser gauti would simply be killed and reassimilated/replaced with fresh gaunt.
