Mercer recently posted a list on here for me and we had a game using that list.

After the game we discussed some changes which would be good to make to it.

I thought I'd post the revised list here to get some feedback, so this is it:

Total Army Cost: 2000

The plasma assault squads roll is to split into combat squads and hold any objectives whilst the rest of the assault squads zoom ahead and take out my opponent, the Devastators are there to give missile fire support to the whole army. Knocking out any light armour and taking down large infantry groups before the assault squads move in.

Let me know what you guys think of this list.

It is really hard to make out the list because of your arrangement. Arrange it properly and you will get more feedback. Go check the rules for this forum on how to post army lists correctly.

It is a revised version of the list Mercer posted if you look I actually said that at the start.

That's the whole point of the devastators, they are there for long range fire support. The melta assault squad and Honour Guard can only take out 2 vehicles per turn. With the Dev's banging out missiles that increases to 5. 2 big nasty av14 LR type vehicles and 3 small Rhino type transports.

The plasma assault squad will hang back and sit on any objectives ensuring that I don't get stuck out in no-man's land with no objectives covered.

Before anyone says anything I don't like vanguard. To get the best from them you need to deep strike, and reliability can be a real problem when rolling for reserves. Not only that but even with Descent of Angels you can still scatter out of charge range or into a position where you roll on the mishap table, resulting in your one hit wonder either not turning up, being destroyed or worse being placed by your opponent.

I like this type of list because you can still get your assault units moving but you can also lay down supporting fire, which will either take out light armour or blasting large squads with templates before the assault squads hit.

Well, when I played 13th Company, 4th ed, I had exactly this kind of problem:
The Long Fangs were sitting in the backfield while the rest of the army was going for the opponent's throat.
Then I dropped the LFs and took Bikers.
It was the better solution.
