It is a revised version of the list Mercer posted if you look I actually said that at the start.

That's the whole point of the devastators, they are there for long range fire support. The melta assault squad and Honour Guard can only take out 2 vehicles per turn. With the
Dev's banging out missiles that increases to 5. 2 big nasty av14
LR type vehicles and 3 small Rhino type transports.
The plasma assault squad will hang back and sit on any objectives ensuring that I don't get stuck out in no-man's land with no objectives covered.
Before anyone says anything I don't like vanguard. To get the best from them you need to deep strike, and reliability can be a real problem when rolling for reserves. Not only that but even with Descent of Angels you can still scatter out of charge range or into a position where you roll on the mishap table, resulting in your one hit wonder either not turning up, being destroyed or worse being placed by your opponent.
I like this type of list because you can still get your assault units moving but you can also lay down supporting fire, which will either take out light armour or blasting large squads with templates before the assault squads hit.
