Hey all, this is my first blog ever on dakka so, here goes, I am making a 2k dwarfs army. I need the P&M blog to keep me motivated (read:working). I am a fantasy noob in general as i have never played WHFB only 40k.

Here is the sort of list i want for 2k

Master engineer
Great weapon, brace of pistols

Thane
2 hand weapons, brace of pistols

3x30 dwarf warriors with GW

2x16 thunderers

Couple`a` cannons.

I am yet t by the codex so i am going of what i can gleam of army lists and battle reports.


First is my Master Engineer (convereted)


And my Thane


I am currently painting a Thunderer up, so expect this shortly.
Also, in the WHFB tactics there is a thread called Dwarf newb. If it isnt too much troube can you add to this? Thanks.

The master engineer looks pretty good, glad to see someone making good use of the plastic kits, it's just much more economical.
The thane is the first non-slayer dwarf I've seen with two hand weapons, interesting.
Look forward to seeing them painted.

I was going to put the rune that makes you go first and some runes of cleaving for extra strenght.

If it will fit he will have lots of attacks, str 6 and sriking first, not sure what the points are for these runes are though.

I was in the process of painting and had to take a picture.

Also the gun crew arent finished yet so thats why there is stilll lines.

Looks nice so far. Can't wait to see it progress.

One thing I would recommend is drilling out the muzzles
If you don't have a pin vice yet carefully rotate a scalpel blade.

Doesn't have to go deep as a drop of black paint will do the trick

Here is a quick shot of what the men will look like when finished.
I adore the very muddy look they have, They look very, like, well like theve been underground for a long time.

Sorry, lol! It was my glasses, there was alot of dirt and stuff, so things seemed alot different. Again, sorry! But I stand by my comment on those fellows with the mold lines on the gunners.
Edit: I realized you said you just assembled them. Never mind!

Nice modles, the Master Engineer looks great.

Its too dark to take photos now but the master engineer is finished and i will take a pic of hime and post it tommorow, might do the thane aswell tonight if i get bored.

Wow your stuff looks really good man! in fact its giving me a couple ideas for my dwarves. I really like how you did the gold, It looks very "antique-ish" idk if that was the effect you were going for but it looks really good.

Yeah it's cool but, swap the weapon to a left arm instead. It will look alot better (and alot more natural, hrm), it would be a shame imho to not do something right from the start, especially on a conversion that's cool.
