I was on Forgeworld and saw that they have a Grey Knights Land Raider Reedemer with Flamestorm Incinerators and Twin Linked Psycannons. This got me to thinking.. A flamestorm cannon would be like, the ultimate gun on the battlefeild.

I mean think about it?, Its Strength 6 so you'll wound most stuff on a 2+, its a Template weapon so they cant have any cover saves, It's Ap 3 so it'll even kill marines instantly, and since it's an incinerator you wont get invulranble saves. So unless you have multi wounds and a toughness ubove 3 or have 2+ armour, your screwed.

So a Flamestorm Incinerator would be the ultimate troop killing weapon wouldn't it?

Not the ultimate troop-killer* but it ranks somewhere near the top. The problem is that you have to get pretty close to the target and then you risk being assaulted/destroyed by the survivors. Also, Daemonhunters have few anti-tank choices, so a Godhammer Raider would probably be of a higher priority than a Redeemer Raider. Good observation though

That vehicle and it's deadliness has been discussed in the daemonhunters advice thread but we went completely off-topic so had to stop...

The rules can be found in the Imperial Armor Apocalypse II book; if you want I can post from memory what his stats are.

On second though, are you sure this is the right place to post this? Or you just didn't know ForgeWorld had already made rules for it?

Didn't it have AP4 though, and not AP3?

In the 4th edition early 5th the fluffy rulebooks where a flamestorm cannon was in, it was always AP4.

and I don't believe the one that the Grey Knights had ignored invulnerable saves.

EDIT: I looked it up in the Vraks Siege III

AP3 Ignored Invulnerable saves.

That's serious S***

It is against forum rules to post stats and such. You know....copyrights and all that.

But yeah, it is a troop-killer, that's for sure. Twin-linked psycannons and a flamestorm cannon that ignores invulns. The only thing missing from it though is a multi-melta. Oh well, almost perfect.

A multi-melta can also be taken.

As a Chaos player, I find that the Battlecannon and Demolisher are both excellent troop killers.

Of course, but his point (I think) is that they have a FAR better range, meaning they can fire a few shots before the enemy is upon them.

Whereas the Flamestorm is "only" a template weapon with it's strengths and weaknesses.

They're both fantastic choices, Demolisher/Battle and Flamestorm.

Just they have different uses.

Not much of a point to argue over which is better considering they're rather different in application and uses.

But you can move the land raider all 12in and still fire 1 Flamestorm Cannon so in like 2 turns you could be in the middle of ur enemy and burning everyone

Ultimate troop killer is rolling on a Shokk attack gun. AP3 means you do not kill terminators. S6 means you do not instant death any T4 multi-wound models. Shokk attack gun does these things.

Then there is the crazyness that is Titan weapons. Doesn't strength D stuff ignore cover, auto wound, and are mostly AP 2 as well? And you shoot like a hundred pie plates the size of half the table or something like that.

That being said the famestorm incinerator is quite scary.

But yet all those other things have less armour and im sure a shokk attack gun is like the first thing to go during a game

So you must have never played Orks or Blood Angels?

My Vindicators move 12" and still shoot Vindicator Cannon, though in some circumstances I'd prefer the Redeemer, I usually use both in my lists.

Also, an Ork Shokk Attack gun is held by an HQ choice, usually stashed inside a Loota Squad...

Not to mention in cover, you're not gonna kill it on the first turn...
