here are a few pics of my Bjorn The Fell Handed conversion. There is still a little bit of green-stuff work to do but it is almost there. The body is a AOBR Dred. I modeled the Assault cannon arm using parts from a Baal predator, SM dev squad and more. The wolf head and tail are from a goblin wolf rider wolf and I think the loin cloth was from the WFB zombies sprue. I also used lots of bits from the SW sprues I had lying around. The leg armour is from the Venerable dred kit and I think the Heavy flamer was from the Baal Pred kit

This thread and the blog have inspired me to have a go at making a my Own Venerable dreadnought for my Bear Claw Chapter. I think I will be going for a Close Combat Claws and lots of animal Pelts.

Not only is it a great model, I'm doubly pleased to see that my friends and I are not the only ones who call it "the ass cannon", after an unfortunately abbreviated spreadsheet.

Your paint job really makes the conversion. I feel like it brings it to life way better than the conversion alone. It makes me want to get to work painting my own conversions.

I have used Bjorn a hand full of times. I like to take him in bigger games 2000+. He is rather threatening and as such has been a shot magnet in most games. His 13 armour, 5+ Invulnerable save and Venerable re-roll on damage chart all help to keep him alive but in the end a lucky Rockit can take him out. I think he fits in well with shooty and mech SW lists. It is a shame that he cant take a drop pod.

i started with adeptus battle grey and gradually lightened it up with more and more space wolves gray for each successive layer. I was experimenting

Nice... I have wanted to put together a Bjorn list for awhile now... I love the flavor of Bjorn and i think converting up a model for him would be a blast. But everyone I've talked with talks smack on him in games. But I think i am going to just go ahead and try my hand at a conversion of him as well. Seeing yours it can definitely be done well. I'll just learn to play him.

Dont forget you can always use the model as a standard Ass Cannon Dread or Ven Dread (like I did last night) and not be restricted to only running it as Bjorn
