So is there anyone out there who is as excited about Fable 3 as I am? Personally the games of the Fable series have been amongst my favorite games I've ever owned (right up there with Zelda: Ocarana of Time and Donkey Kong 64) and when I found out that a 3rd game was being made and that you would actually rule Albion at one point in the game I was actually giddy.

I've already pre-ordered my copy and made my Villager, who I've made attractive as I plan on marrying her once I've completed the quest she comes with. And now I just sit here counting down the days untill it's released and sent to my house. I can't wait to see what character options are available now as well as explore the larger lands (and foriegn lands as well), try out the new spell weaving ability as well as the new map. Anyone else planning on locking themselves in their game rooms with a mini fridge on October 26th?

In Fable 3, you don't rule Albion at one point in the game, just the last point, after you kill the new king.

Spoiler:
The Hero from Fable 2 dies in Fable 3, btw, as they were the king/queen at the end of Fable 2.

From what I've read, they're simplifying it, AGAIN. 3 or 4 expressions IIRC. I remember when I used to be able to shoot lightning and flip people off at the same time...

Um. The last point in the game is one point in the game sooooo there is really no differance between what you said and what I did?

The first game was actually a fun and challenging game.

The second game was the easiest game I've ever played in my life.

I have a feeling it will only get worse.

I hope not. I liked certain aspects of the 2nd one but I deffinitly miss playing the 1st one which is my favorite so far, I remember learning how to use your will and your bow and sword. Plus the armour was cool.

I like the map room idea.
It's could players sooo paranoid.

And from what I've heard it's more like you become king at halfway and that your a decendant of the 2 duude but he isn't the king at the time of your takeover.

The expanded version of the first game was good though still lacking in many of the features mentioned during development.

Second game was far to easy and the main storyline felt to short.

Taking a wait and see approach to the third if it's well optimized for the PC and has a longer story than I might check it out.

See that's what I've seen on the website is that the first half of the game is centered around rebeling against the current king who is your brother. Then the second half of the game has to deal with you being king which includes dealing with foriegn countries and military actions and such.

Also you can be a more active king who takes care of problems himself but then you miss what most of the problems are since you aren't in the castle. And then of course there is the good and evil aspect of it, you can be a good king and your people will love you or you could be a tyrant and set high taxes and such. Also your family will try to influence how you rule the kingdom.

Fable is an interesting series for me. I started with the Xbox version that was 1st released and enjoyed it immensly, completing it over 20 or so times haha. When one of my mates asked for help on a quest i hadnt done i realised there was an expanded version, so i hunted it down and got it for £17 . Enjoyed that alot more than the 1st version, how badass is the last boss lol.

When i heard that Fable 2 was being developed i was astounded, and i couldnt wait for its release..... but as always being over excited lead to being massivly dissapointed.... Fable 2 (in short) was too easy and way too short...

im lookin forward to Fable 3 but not as much as i was to fable 2, as well you can see what happened there.

Tbh it would prove better for the Fable series to somewhat revert back to Fable: TLC(The lost chapters) as thats what alot of Fable fans got hooked on, i know if they kept doing the same thing over and over it would get boring, however the change from Fable to Fable 2 was too big and what happened to the armours??? Fairfax castle is lined with it but you cant buy any??

thts just some of my views on the Fable series so far

When the rich rage war it's the poor who die

Armies I have: Chaos Space Marines, Tau, Necrons, High Elves

Armies I want:Lizardmen, Warriors Of Chaos, Dark Eldar

Well you can actually get armour in Fable 2 but you have to either download it or buy the expansion they made which is kind of stupid, through those you can choose between 3 other types of dogs, a top hat, armour and even more locations and quests.

Ah you mean full on plate armour .

I'm excited about the idea of having a differant breed of dog standard in the game. From what I've heard there are 3 differant breeds in the standard game and a 4th (the Boxer) in the special edition game and that you choose which breed you want by switching out adoption baskets.

Also the combat system is supposed to be ALOT better

I just hope you can actually die in this one. The last game made some terrible design decisions in that regard.

The issue I've had with the fable franchise in the past is while those features sound good they almost always seem to come up short in implementation at least to me.

I also prefer massive plate armor to the clothes in fable 2 which didn't even seem all that great to me for the most part.

yea tht really bummed me down >.> scars and such are cool, but not being allowed to die just plain sucked.... its pretty much a case of "run into 100+ enemies and slaughter them all"..... so what you lost the XP on the ground....potions solved tht coz they were buyable and money is easy to get.....would have been better to get a bigger "punishment" for dying than just a scar and a loss of XP on the ground

Behind the guy that says he's behind you.

Love the fable series.

Fable 1 = Genre Defining game that was fresh and gave me many, many play-through's.
Fable 2 = Not as great as the first one, Story was great, Guns were great and the characters, the only things i hated was the GUI and the clothes (no matter how thin you where you always looked fat, especially in the knothold island armor)
Fable 3 = Sounds like its going to be great. Armor from the pictures looks great (i even saw some Plate armor), Forging your own weapons = Awesome and the new clothing, armory, map, bank area looks amazing (im still hoping that peter is including the money room, and will alow us to roll around in it). I cant wait to get it and i cant wait to reach the middle of the game, overthrow the king and get that castle =D
Spoiler:
( i say overthrow because i guarantee you that if you are good you will have the option to kill or just exile your brother, the exile option of course will lead to a side quest where your brother no doubt tries to take the castle back or something.)

Anyway thats my 1 cent.

IMO the story for Fable 2 was great or poor it was on par I say.
The fact you know who the main bad guy is from the start is somewhat crap IMO.... The reason I think i enjoyed Fable:TLC so much was because the villian was slowly introduced, it wasnt a case of "iv shot you and now i think your dead so im gonna disappear" they introduced Jack steadily by dropping hints(e.g. after the wasp quessn maze says "they were forces that put you giant beast to shame" or something like that, could have been jack or maybe not but the hint he did it is there) and even misguided you to the bandit king(well not misguided but told you tht he may have caused th bandit attack at the start)!

Not only was the villian introduced but there was a rather fun boss fight when you actually confronted jack where as
Spoiler:
you just shoot lucien or reaver does it for u
(thought i should include spoiler just incase)

those two aspects seemed to make Fable:TLC story a bit better in those regards.

I'm looking forward to this with egar anticipation, Fable 2 was the first game i got with my 360 and i loved every miniute of it, i agree tho it was a touch easy and the 'you never EVER die' thing did wind me up a little, however this a side it's a great game.

I picked up a copy of fable 1 for £2.98 off ebay, need to play through that before i pick up Fable 3, however Fable 3 is released only days before my birthday, i've booked the day off work so i know what i'll be doing most of that day! hehe.

I liked the first one, but after the crap that was the second I'm going to need a fair bit of convincing before I waste any time/money with the new one.

I'm hoping it acts like the Devil May Cry series where all the even numbered games are crap, while the odd numbered ones are good. Not intentionally of course, but it just seems to happen.

I loved Fable:TLC played it again for the billionth time just a few weeks ago. No 360, so I lost out on Fable 2, but between what you all said, and everything that everyone else says, there wasn't that much missed. Jack was an awesome villain, there was plenty of replay value, and despite you knowing the story line, it always felt fresh, change one little aspect of the game, and things were different. Kill

Can't wait for Fable 3 though, Lionhead better not back out of the PC optimization. Raged when they didn't give you the same chance for the special edition stuff for it, which frightens me.

From what I've heard, Fable 3 has you as a guerrilla fighter gaining support and making deals and promises as you fight your way to overthrowing the current king.
Then, you have to decide which promises to keep, etc.

In other words, it will be amazing and I am so damn excited about it!!
:3

Oh and also, Kinect support!

Behind the guy that says he's behind you.

In a recent interview i think i heard that they have done away with experience orbs and buying things. Now it will all depend on the followers you get. Get more followers and you can upgrade you skills a little bit more and they also give you access to a chest room where you will open chests that give you weapons or clothes.

I think.
If this is right then im gona be a little bit pissed off.

Yes, it seems like the followers/friends/relationships that you create and foster during your overthrow of the king (who is apparently your brother) provide you with different perks (not CoD -_-) and upgrades/advantages if you end up doing what they asked for once you're in power.

I still can't believe people like these pieces of garbage.

Fable 1: 4 hours after I bought it, I had finished it.

Fable 2: You can't die..... thanks for taking any challenge out it.

You pretty much couldn't die in the original Fable, either.
But still, each game had a (mostly) charming background, good humor, and interesting action and gameplay.
In my opinion, at any rate.
And besides, Fable 3 seems like such a huge departure from the first two that I'm definitely willing to try it.

I love Tom & Jerry.

Beating Fable in 4 hours dosen't make it a bad game especially since there is so much extra content and side venues. Yeah you can just focus on the main quests and beat the game but half the fun is exploring the world and finding all the little differant things. I've completed Fable 2 more times then I can count and each time I have I've found something new. Fable just isn't one of those games where you play to the story line and that's all the content that there is.

But not actually being able to die is sucky though.

I had all stats maxed in that time (took about 30 minutes of grinding undead). The games just have no appeal to me I guess

And having a lot of side content isn't a good reason to have crap stories.
