Yeah sorry I don't know about Seattle. I just moved from Bellingham and we had a pretty large group of players, half of them would come down from Canada though since it's cheaper to buy their stuff here.

Good Luck with finding a place, us GWs find a store option. It dosen't just do actual GW stores it also does stores that carry it and most of them have a gaming club attached to them so just find the one closest to you and ask someone who works there if there is a good gaming group there.

Yea I just moved to everett from bellingham myself and I'm rather... no... extremely disappointed with not only the GW stores in the area but also the independent retailers in the area.

Just so you know, most of the independent retailers listed on the GW website either don't carry any warhammer 40k products or have very little, and most don't even have a place set up to play the game. In bellingham we had a decent stores called eagles games, the owner was really nice and he had 6 or so tables set up to play on...

Well, I through much painstaking effort have found a few good places to play near seattle. And I shall now share them with you.

So if you want an official GW store I would go to either the seattle bunker or the carkeek plaza stores. The Freeway V store, is the new location for the alderwood mall GW store; and while its a brand new location its in a ghetto strip mall where I wouldn't even leave my car out in hte front of the store. The store also has 2 tables but are extremely cramped and the down slanting cielings make you feel like you're in a fun house. Avoid freeway V.
If you don't mind a longer trip, the marysville location is also a decent store and has some good people there, but my best recommendation for you is carkeek plaza as it has a great group of people and the guy that works there set up a nice forum ordo-ludus.com I believe it was.

If you're looking for a good independent retailer then like I said I can't help too much because seattle is really lacking when it comes to stores with large areas to play, good customer service and the whole shabang. (this is partly due to large stores in seattle can have extremely high rent). I've heard both good and bad things about ernies games, but I think they might be worth checking out. Also, I've been to fantastic games a couple of times and even though its a little hole in the wall of a store, the owner was very friendly and knowledgeable, and there were tons of tables to play at with tons of available terrain to use.

Well hope I helped! Happy Hunting!

I am in the U District (North Seattle) and looking to either meet some people close by to go over and play with or to have some people over to my place. I have small armies, and others would be welcome to use them. I am new to playing (I used to only model), so I am still learning.

Check out my Project (B)log! I would love any suggestion or comments you may have.

Wow i thought this thread was long forgotten. I live in north seattle and go to UW so the U District is good for me.

I dont have anywhere to play at my house so ive been going to the Carkeek games workshop.

All i have is 1500 points of Eldar and free til school starts. After that who knows.

If either/both of you guys want to meet up at the Carkeek GW or if you have a table that would be great!

Fantasy Toy & Games has now shut down :(.

Doesn't seem to be any independant stores around closer than Renton now. I like the Carkeek GW, but unfortnately my days off are Mon and Tues.

Anyone know of any other stores/clubs around north Seattle/Edmonds that might have sprung up?

Hey, I live in Renton!

Honestly, I use the GW bunker. Its big, and there is usually an event going on. Some of the staff are interesting characters, but there are enough tables for EVERYONE. Out of they years I have gone there, it has been completely full once since the remodel.

I used to work at the bunker in seattle, and I would suggest you not go there. Go to the supermall as the employees there are top notch. Tommy Rice is a great manager. Also Olympic Card and Games down by Olympia is great, but the club that plays out of there can be major tools. The Matrix in Tacoma is "HORRIBLE" hands down on that one.

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House!

Depends on when you went there. I stopped working their in late 2006, but I still know most of the staff in the region.

Seeing as how I started in 07, I wouldn't have met you. You know Andy? He worked there in 2007, and was what really got me into the hobby.

AFK Tavern in Everett is a pretty awesome place to play. I work there and see people playing all the time, which is what inspired me to recently get into the game.

Booze and gaming 4tw.

OK, I've heard of AFK Tavern before. I have to check it out sometime, it would be a lot closer than Renton or Auburn.

Ther are two GW stores not too far away (Carkeek and Alderwood), but there is no place to play any non-GW games around. Hopefully AFK will be the place.

Everett, WA wargamer here. I recently started playing at the Marysville GW store, the Manager (and only employee) is a really nice guy, and they have a decent following.

I'll probably check out the AFK tavern tommorrow night... anyone down for 1000-1500 point game of 40k?!
