What is your favorite thing to build, and/or paint, or what is your least favorite thing to build and/or paint.

I love painting tactical marines and firewarriors, but i hated the drop pod, and the hammerhead.

I loved painting the drop pod... so easy... putting it together sucked the most out of all my models :(

Building (along with converting) is my favorite aspect of the hobby...so this is a tough question.

I like kits that are very poseable; where you can let your imagination go wild and assemble them in cool, dynamic posing.

Some of the most fun I've had is assembling some of the Forge World battlesuits. They get alot of flak for their number of pieces, especially around the leg area, but I absolutely love that they're so posable. I'm also quite fond of assembling Genestealers, and most Tyranid models with the exception of Tyrant and Hive Guard (too boring and undynamic).

One thing I swear to god I will never, ever assemble or even think about assembling again; the Thunderfire Cannon.

Really??? I don't own one but I'm curious... I can't stand drop pods and you would think the Thunderfire cannon would be easy..

Love to paint all troop choices. I hate building terrain/painting it either.

I love building nearly anything. It's the painting that sometimes grates.

My least favorite to paint would probably be SM drop pods. I just found them to be very tedious.

My favorite would be Killa Kans or Deff Dreads (the new plastic ones). Lots of different options and easy to make your own.

Also, I have to agree - the Thunderfire Cannon is probably the most difficult one I have yet assembled. It requires a dremel tool and a lot of patience. It's also one of my favorites - I wish they'd release it in plastic already.

Chaos Land Raiders and or Terminators are pretty fun, least favorite would have to be Tyranid Gargoyales. for some reason i find Tyranids pretty hard to paint and i take my hat of to those who can paint them well.

I love troops and terminators, but I hate tanks! I can't stand painting them, it's very hard to get a smooth paint coverage across the large flat areas especially if you use washes and inks to get your colour,

Drop pods are a cinch compared to TFCs.

Drop pods are plastic. Plastic kits are always easier than metal kits, in my opinion... simply because plastic glue is 500% easier to work with than epoxy.

And don't you dare mention superglue. You don't want me frothing at the mouth ranting about how terrible superglue is for putting together metal models.

Anyway, my picks would probably be the old metal Nurgle DP, which never fit together properly without an hour or so of careful filing, or Broadsides, which go together nicely, but looooove to fall apart at the ankles. That's assembly, anyway. Painting? Anything with a boring paintjob, or a paintjob that's exactly the same as the one you did fifty models ago. Like when you're painting that twenty-seventh Necron warrior, or your thirty-sixth Fire Warrior.

I do have to agree with Darth Bob here as well, I'm not a huge fan of kits that allow zero customizability. Scout Snipers, for example, can only be assembled in one pose. I also don't like kits with tiny fiddly bits like Daemonettes, or tiny joints holding up heavy metal parts, like Flamers.

I wanna go back to New Jersey

Although Kroot are my current favorite thing to paint, I dislike building them as the whole "connect wrist to gun holding hand" tends to be quite a prick to make. Also their torso are hard to fit into the right place, if you're off by one tiny margin "BAM!" gap between the back and tail. I dislike to paint firewarriors since they don't have much for such things as personalization, or variety, but they are easy to build nonetheless.

I loved to build my baneblade and banehammer. Hated building the drop pod. For some reason the doors wouldn't lock in properly.

Paint
I enjoyed my SM dreadnought, complete with glass scopes etc, and weathering and a cool base.

Worst paintjob has to be the 50th albino IGsman.

Favorite thing to build: Plastic Ven. Dread
Least: LR. Haven't put together the TFC yet, but I bought one, and ya.... I could already tell it was way beyond my skillset.

Paint: Rhinos. Easy.... and I get bored and just randomly repaint them. They are also my test models.

Don't have a least favorite models to paint. Yet.

Worst to assemble; Ork Warbikers - It's a pain if you try to pose them holding the handlebars. Hence most of mine are riding no-hands with a slugga & choppa in hands. I'm also no fan of metal figures because I'm too clumsy to mess with superglue.

Worst to paint; anything with too much small detail. I'm new to this and I'm not that good yet.

Favourite to assemble; vehicles I guess. I had fun making my Ork fighta/bomba out of an IG Valkyrie.

Favourite to paint; vehicles again. Ork Trukks & stuff like that because they're easy to paint and I can make a half decent job (well, table-top quality at least) of the worn look on them.

Apologies for talking positively about games I enjoy.

Well all I've painted so far are necrons, not so interesting but I don't hate it, it's fast at least.

Chaos marines were fun to put together especially since I used all sorts of DA bitz (they're Fallen) but when I have to put the sonic weaponry on.....

Also Immortals are so awful you practically have to break them to put them togethor. Getting the necron arms took a bit of practice, I'm not fond of guns that have an arm and both hands attached. But in the end metal is just the worst mostly because superglue.

I used to paint whole armies for .25 cents a fig back in the day, it took 2 weeks for a 2,000 pt army. Now I am lucky to paint 10 figs a week with kids and wife. Right now my pain in the but will be an entire Panet Strike Castle for next month building it from scratch and painting.
