The Outback Steakhat was pretty magnificent, but it looked more delicious than evil. A worth contender, but it will take a truly magnificent, evil hat to beat August.

Love it ! Both the Brunswick black corps and the Spanish "death" infantry used a skull can badge in the napoleonic wars and before that the prussian Von ruesch hussars in the 7 year was (1756-63) and was worn right up till ww2 for dress. This us what my old mordian iron guard looked like .lol

Those two regiments are pretty "evil" looking but nowhere near as "magnificent" of hats. Here is a hat that's just as evil looking but doesn't have the magnificence of it's German predecessor it's a Nazi Germany "Stabswache" hat.
As stated in panel 2 of this comic.... "A hat iz a badge of honor! A trophy vot must be plucked from off de head of a Vorthy Enemy!"
