Sorry is this is the wrong place for my question. I have no idea about prices on painted models and wonder if this paint job is worth what they are asking. $55 shipped.

A paint-job is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. There is no set price structure that can define it, as it's purely subjective.

If you like the paiting, and you are willing to pay what they're asking for it, then it's worth it.

Depends if you like the colour scheme. For a Ghaz model painted to a good standard the price seems reasonable. I personaly don't like the way it's been painted but if you do it doesn't seem like a bad deal.

I don't like the paint job personally, but if you like it I would say it is worth it as you'd have to pay that much for a commission probably!

Yeah I see what you guys are saying. Its really only $20 for the paint job if you take the price of the model into account. The only issue I have with the model is that I feel I could paint it almost the same standard my self.

So in your army it will look odd unless you plan to carry on the theme.
Something which would push up painting time alot.

Depends on your point of view. The paint job is good, but I wouldn't call it exceptional. Above tabletop quality but not anywhere near GD range.

If the model is worth $35, you're looking at a $20 paint job. What's your time worth to you? It'd take me several hours to achieve that quality, so from that regards it's not a bad deal. On the other hand, I enjoy the painting aspect of the hobby and see painting as a boon rather than a chore.

Would I personally pay $55? No. Would I think you got ripped off if you paid that much? Nope.

I would charge 35 pounds for decent paint job. Then there would be shipping from UK to USA, so I dont know if that would be worth your while... Certainly more expensive!

Considering you're only paying $5 over retail (plus 14 for shipping) it's not too bad. Also, for Midgard models, it's not mind-blowingly horrible as much of their work is. Still pretty ugly though.

I would not do it ever again. I bought a "pro-painted" Drahazar and when I got it, it was on the wrong sized base, and looked like my brother painted it. (seemingly not too bad.... 'till I tell you he's colorblind, four, and has to wear a helmet to go to "special school")

So sure; If you like crappy tabletop quality, or paying $5 more than MSRP for a mini youll just strip, bid away!!!

I would say its worth it.

Hell yeah, I charge about 4 times that much. Midgard isn't the best out there, but it's still good.

I suppose "above tabletop" is relative....
If I considered Midgard's stuff as that, there would be SOOOOO many others out there I think should be trying for the Daemon.

Dont mean to be too rough on them though, I'm sure plenty of people are willing to pay a little to get a little. Which reminds me of

Personally I've never bought painted models for a pointed model. I'll buy poorly painted at a discount and immediately throw it in to a bucket of super-clean.

It guess it looks "ok", but it doesn't look "Orky" to me.

If you were to get a commision it won't be much cheaper, but the painting could be a lot better. I would do a model like that for about £10-£15 but my style is considerably different to that model.

id say no. The photography is better than the model...its in a profesisonal setting, but i think the paint job is lacking. Something about the crude way things are blended rubs me the wrong way. Id say this model would be work 30 tops -- but 14$ for shipping? Id still say no even at that price.

You can definately tell hours were spent into this model, but to no avail.

The metal is too clean, and oddly transitions from brown(?) to gray and white. The jaw piece is seems off to me too.

Personally, the Trakka on the GW site looks better to me.
