So the two karaoke places I go to are very country-oriented (lots of drunk white guys doing country songs with held notes that are supposed to be emotional but are really just formulaic and annoying). That aside, I have a few regular songs I do:

Kansas - Carry on My Wayward Son
Lynyrd Skynyrd - Freebird (complete with harmonica - the crowd goes nuts)
Lady Gaga - Pokerface and Paparazzi (easily my best song IMO, I shred it)
Amy McDonald - This is the Life
Paramore - Misery Business

Some I'm looking into:

Paramore - That's What You Get, Crush crush crush, and Decode
Boston - Rock and Roll Band
Kelly Clarkson - Addicted, Gone (not Already Gone, just Gone)
The Hollies - Stop Stop Stop
Lady Gaga - Monster (tried it once, needs work :p)
Stevie Wonder - Superstition
CCR - Working Man

Any other suggestions, and which of the ones that I listed sound like good ones to you fine folks? I'll likely get to do 5 throughout the night. I'd like to be more versatile but I'd really, really like to avoid any slower, droning songs. They aren't my thing.

@reds8n: Interesting pick. that melody strikes me as a little underwhelming on the verses but I like the chorus.

I think Hank williams might be the definition.

Good suggestions everyone That friends in low places song gets sung at least twice an hour >.< I hate that I must resort to country-ish things to please the crowd. Maybe I could meet them halfway with some more southern rock. Any ideas that way?

YES! You sir, are a man of taste.

My vote goes to 'Never Gonna Give You Up' By Rick Astley - IRL rick-roll!

Either that or 'Swannee' as performed by Al Jolson. Y'know, to shake things up a bit.

I've seen some suggestions for Hank Williams Jr.

Go for the gusto and go directly for Hank III. or Assjack. Or some Hank Williams...if they have "The Battle of Armeggedon" by Hank Williams at a karaoke place, I'd eat my hat.

Saturday Night by the Misfits is a good karaoke tune too.

Oh man that would be awesome to see. To bad it would take 3 days to drive out there to see it. And if I did that Id have to first go north and pick up Metallifan, since he owes me free drinks

Mesopotamia. The Kingdom Where we Secretly Reign.

Or you could go with the ultimate song. Boston's "More than a Feeling."

It always depends on the mood of the club, for me. I can usually be found rocking the following:

Livin' on a Prayer- Bon Jovi
Eve of Destruction- Barry McGuire
Let it Be- The Monkees I kid, I kid
Sweet Caroline- Neil Diamond
Blitzkrieg Bop- The Ramones
Rio- Duran Duran
Radar Love- Golden Earring
