Right Guys, i recently won in a GW auction one of the old, metal discontinued Space marine Venerable Dreadnoughts. Completely un-opened and in the box with its original plastic seal. Basically its mint condidion.

But what should i do with it? Keep it as it is or make it?

I personally want to make it and add it to my army and be proud to have one of the great models that GW has discontinued over the years. But i dont know yet because its mint and un-opened so it could be worth a bit of money?

Any advice on what to do or info on the prices they go for in that condition will be much appreciated guys

Versteckt in den Schatten deines Geistes.

It's a terrible model.

Chrome it and stick it on the front of your car.

Some people like it and would likely be willing to pay for it. You'd get 50 bucks if you were really lucky, I guess.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHAHA
*cough*
Well it's a shame the model is bad after his smile when he won it at the auction. Look at the price for it on Ebay and if it isn't what you want for it then just make SKINZz. After all you got it for "free"

There really isn't much of a market for collectible miniatures. Most of the things that are worth any money are 25+ years old and/or limited edition, and the NIB quality is not that much of a factor. Seeing as how this dread doesn't fall into a category of value, and if it becomes valuable, it wont for some time, you ought to use it in your army.

OP, build and use it because you want to. It won't be worth a bit for a long while.

It's actually not a terrible looking model, but it's a nightmare to assemble. Get your pinning hand ready, and bring some spare drillbits.

I dont know.. if people used to lick or eat their lead models perhaps they deserve some poisoning

Its not like lead paint where the chips slowly kill you

The old pewter models are actually easier to pin than the newer white metal since the pewter is softer and easier to drill. I went through the same dithering when preparing to sell my RT ork army and was relieved when She-Who-Must-Be-Obeyed gave me permission to keep it. If you like the model, use it.

What harm can it do to find out? It's a question that left bruises down the centuries, even more than "It can't hurt if I only take one" and "It's all right if you only do it standing up." Terry Pratchett, Making Money

"Can a magician kill a man by magic?" Lord Wellington asked Strange. Strange frowned. He seemed to dislike the question. "I suppose a magician might," he admitted, "but a gentleman never could." Susanna Clarke Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell

Sell it.

As you won it for free it's pure profit.

Metal models that large are hard to assemble, heavy to carry around and take serious damage if they fall off the table.
