He really looks good... I like that mini, the hood adds the tiny "grimdark" touch for the 40k universe...

Sorry I didn't notice this before, but... Could you drill the barrels out?

I love all the freehands you did on that mini : checks, =I= symbol on the hood, etc... The purple looks damn good too!

As for the shoulder pads, from that perspective you cannot really tell there's a difference in scale, so for now it doesn't bother me much...

But think that an Inquisitor is a powerful character, whose armour has probably seen centuries of battle (and damage). Maybe one of its shoulder pads was replaced for a temporary repair, then became an icon of that Inquisitor. Or a grateful AdMech Magos offered the Inquisitor a revered relic from his order & integrated it into his armour... Or any other good reason you might make up in the grim darkness of the 41st millenium...

I reckon it's because they use demon blood for pigments. Or maybe they just sacrife stuff to the paint god, you know, like all those speedy painters do.

Ha ha ha... Now I see why I envy guys such as grey_death, Raff or Son of Orar... They have a magic recipe!!! Thanks monkeytroll, I'll ask them for a ounce or two of "Demon Blood", hope they still have some available lol...

OMG thank you so much to the two of you!!! My GF had always convinced me I was a freak or something, with my habit of thinning the brush on my lips, but now I can tell :

I AM NOT ALONE !!!!!!

Monkeytroll, according to aforementioned GF : "yeah, that probably explains a lot of things..."

monkeytroll wrote:Not reached Christmas yet and you're already OD'ing on the grub. Eyes bigger than your belly

What does "grub" mean?!? The only previous place I heard it was in the video game Gears of War : "One dead grub!!", but always thought it was a nickname or short for "grunt", or something like that...

monkeytroll wrote:Yggs - haven't played Gears but I'd guess in that context it's being used to refer to maggots or the like, but in the UK we refer to food as grub (pub-grub for a start ), and army rations as scran. Although obviously, as anywhere there's a whole bunch of regional variations.

I like 'pub-grub', I guess that's close to when we French say: "Wow, bad face this morning. - Yeah, I've been *eating liquid* yesterday evening.."

Thanks for the explanation !

"liquid diet" is funny, I'll try and suggest that to my teammates...

And you're nearly good, we'd say "J'ai mangé liquide hier soir" ('Je mange' is present, and 'liquide' is used as an adjective here, so no 'le').

I'd love to hear you guys (well, guys, you get me uh) speaking French, it's so ... Cute?

Cute as in very badly done but endearing?

Yeah, linguists usually have a knack for learning all sorts of languages in a short amount of time, that's quite infuriating...

And, erh, yeah, should I have known this word 'endearing', I'd have used it in place of cute... But it doesn't need to be 'very badly done' to be 'endearing'... All English native speakers (male or female) have a really charming ( ) tone when they speak French..

[2nd edit : on the Dakka front page, we can see that mini as a preview of your blog : .

Usually the preview pic is the first one of the last post with pics, but for you it's the Orlock ganger, whereas this looks like a CSM... And I don't remember seeing a CSM in your blog, what's wrong?!?]

We also have something close, it's the "slice of hop" ('tartine de houblon'), as in "slice of bread & butter", but just with one of the special ingredients of beer...

Aber 'flüssiges' Brot ist ganz gut also!!!

I guess your English teacher was full of wisdom...

I mean, I never suffered from starvation in the UK, but I saw some of the weirdest meals in my life... As in, pizzas drenched in soup (who does that?) or the infamous 'fudge' : 1/3 butter, 1/3 sugar, 1/3 sweetened condensed milk (how can you imagine that)...

But I have to admit, the English breakfast is far better than ours (yum, yum, bacon, beans, eggs, toasts... )

I don't know, I'm not aware of anyone that does that, don't think you can call that a typical british meal

Well, that was during my first trip to GB, back in... 1995? Something like that... The family who hosted us had weird ways when it came to 'cuisine'...
