After a 3 year break from the hobby, I paint again! This is my new ceramic Necron army theme, including the conceptual/planning model.

Be brutal with critiques please! I can't get better if nobody tells me what can improve!

Thanks guys!

I love 'em!

Like the colour of the weapon rods especially, make the whole effect nice and "cool".

No criticism to offer, I'm afraid - I'll leave that to the painting masters

Argh, Bill and Ben are going to kill us all!

I like the blue rods and unit markings. The only thing I am not sure on is the highlighting on the lighter armour - it might be a little bit too extreme (and remember - never highlight with pure white ).

Hmm thanks SilverMK2, I've never heard not to highlight with pure white. What alternative should I use, something like a 1:1 skull white:bleached bone mix?

A mixture of that type is probably best - I don't know what colours you have used for the pale armour, but if you used straight bleached bone, try a 50/50 mix of bleached bone and skull white to highlight and adjust it depending on how it looks.

Highlighting with pure white is too stark a highlight to do without working up to it, using several intermediate highlights, and then using the pure white only on the very extreme high lit areas, if at all. At least, in my view

What SilverMK2 said about the highlighting is right, but I'd add that it looks too thick for my tastes. Try - using the side of the brush, not the tip - to get a thinner line on the edge itself. Aside from that, decent looking tabletop models.

I hate necrons ¬¬

But they look pretty cool, a change from their natural metalic, green paint scheme.

Im no expert in necrons (big surprise) but perhaps to add a darker tone to make a better colour composition, as they seem very light. just a suggestion rather then a tip for improvement as they seem pretty fine as they are.

Thanks guys. I'll repaint tomorrow (Sunday) and repost some pics. Hoping I can cover that white (it was a really light white, so should go away with a really watered down bleached application) easily and redo the highlights according to your suggestions.
