Hello Dakka fans, lets get right to the meat and potatoes.

Ok, so ALOT of pics, sorry, but I know thats what you all come here for. Some explanation, I bought a "lot" of forgeworld renegades on ebay and they have been sitting on the desk for some time. Most were primed red and some unassembled. They are all in various stages, the yellow paint is the very beginning of a base coat trial, and the brown and red are primer. These are VERY early stage. They may become native residents to my latest terrain build. Let me know what you think!

Hell yes more Traitor guard! Just started a project of Khorne Guardsmen myself, these models are fantastic and if I had some cash I'd get some myself love the way they look. The Heavy Wep's look great with the barrels, the Autocannon needs more to it's base, otherwise they look great man I hope you decide to make them into an army and not a terrain!

This is the "final" paint scheme I came up with, although the mini is still a WIP for some finish detailing, I think this will be a good time to showcase the scheme. It is still up for debate though, so let me know what you think.

I like the mustard yellow as some sort of base colour. It doesn't really feel like you're taking advantage of the detail on the model.
Honestly I preferred my initial impressions from my first glance at your early pics when I thought you were picking out the helmets/armour plates in a weathered brass/copper metallic.

I am indeed going to pick the plating with a weathered brass/copper, but I am unsure of the helmet yet. I kind of like the look of stretched out skin/hide over the plate, but I may revert back to the brass helmet as well. It is just what I had in mind. Still a prototype...
Have a look at this:

Tough to pull off the stretched hide look effectively unless you're willing to spend a lot of time at it. Have you thought of going with copper with verdigris weathering for the helmets/armour?

Well, let me just explain the final steps needed here:
1) The ankle armor plates and straps.
2) Maybe or maybe not the brass on the helm
3) The chestplate
4) Weathering them all
5) Accessories and an additional shade on the weapons
6) Boots

The paint scheme shown was the basic gist of it, that's all. I'll have some more pics this weekend.

A further note:
This army will be quite large when it is completed. I have already purchased every model required with the exception of a few Valkyrie's and some odds and ends.
I am attempting to put together a somewhat competitive list but for now I will just let you know what I have and maybe someone out there has a tougher list that I cannot come up with.

6 Ogryn
6 Russ Variants
3 Chimera
Psyker Squad right now I am unsure of just how many I will field, but I have the makings for 20+
2 Hydra
CHAOS TITAN through building a foot and leg... pics to come
More troops than you can shake a stick at
Also have Vendetta conversions from FW
About 20 Heavy Weapons to include the nifty FW stubber teams
If I find any more models that I forgot about, I'll update you.

Thanks man! I had some intentions of making this into a Necromunda army for a bit, so I am still kind of in the zone to paint in that style.

Funny I didn't even catch that. Spent hours painting and never saw the line on the boot/leg area. That's what I get for doing it late at night.

Wow, thanks all! I appreciate all the great feedback. That alone is motivating enough to continue painting along. 2 Squads nearing completion now. Still hoping for ideas/help building the army list. I have never ran an IG army before. Looking forward to showing you all more soon!

My fiance is the photographer. I just bought her a D90 and she is really good with it. Its cool that both of our hobbies can come together every so often.

Ok, so it's been a bit, but I managed to get some things accomplished over the holiday break. I bought a number of tanks and vehicles online in various states of disarray, and I have managed to put most of them back together and I have begun to paint three of them. One Hydra and two Chimera(s). The autocannon turret is new from forgeworld... I have a second one, but the cast of the section that the turret mounts to is badly warped, so I will be re-casting on my own. I have been working on my CSM army a bit as well, but I have been making progress here.
Just a few VERY WIP photos. Obviously the green you see in the tanks is getting further tinted to yellow I used the green color as a base for all my models. Also, the rust will be much easier to make out when more yellow is added.
Also I have managed to build about 100 total models for this project and they are all primed and ready for a paint brush. Once my commissions cool off, I will be hitting them hard and fast.

The yellow coloring I was talking about has only just started on the Chimera in the back right.
