There has been alot of buzz about Halo: Reach on Dakka lately some of it good and some of it not so much, I myself am excited (already pre-ordered the legendary edition) and can't wait to get the game. The first thing I am going to do when I get it is actually check out the Forgeworld (fitting don't you think? ) feature and customise my Spartan for when I get to campaign mode.

Besides being able to customize your Spartans armor and have it show up in campaign mode (including cut scenes which is always nice) there are also a group of other Spartans that are going to be cool to look at and fight beside. So I'm wondering this, what is your favorite Noble Team Spartan given the information that we currently have?

Personally it is a tie between Jorge and Emile for me. Jorge is the old man of the group, the only Spartan II in the team and he reminds me of Jesse "The Body" Ventura in the first Predator movie. But then you have Emile with his Kukri blade, skull face helmit and the fact that he is a assault specialist which besides sniper is my favorite role to play in multi-player games.

So who do you guys like?

The only thing i dont uinderstand is why they are spartons 3's. yet they work in a team of 6. 3's were supposed to be expendable teams of 300. not six.

It's part of the story line that there where a few squads created for special forces tasks or something like that

sadly you have to be commander to unlock it and you cant even get that rank yet :( but bungie are gonna release a dlc putting the level cap up when lots of people are the highest level at the moment (lt. colonel grade 3)

They were 300 to 330, not just 300. Kurt advocated for more slots with Gamma (and Beta?) and got them. It's not that odd though. Think of them as the SIII version of Gray Team. There are also the Head Hunters, another group of SIII's separated from their companies for special tasks. Ackerson wanted Tom for his own projects, so its not that surprising that some SIII's would see themselvs diverted for tasks other than the mandate of the Spartan III program as a whole.

It's been awhile since I read Ghosts of Onyx but weren't the IIIs like 12 years old? they seem full sized to me.

Noble members seem to range in the 20's. Save Jorge who is an SII and must be in his late forties or early fifties. Carter and Kat and another are from Alpha company. Six and I think Emile are from Beta. EDIT: If I'm not mistake, the SIII's are like the SII's in that their growth was accelerated and they all hit puberty early. So, the 12 year old SIII's would likely seem older than twelve. EDIT2: Gah. Silly me its right in the poll XD. Kat and Six are from Beta and the other III's are from Alpha.

I know that Carter was the oldest SIII, he was 12 at the time of his conscription and Emile was 8 making him the second oldest. And if I remember right Jorge is 30 something, of course the SIIs started alot younger then the IIIs

So, with the exception of Jorge, Noble Team could very well be a bunch of teenagers?
Also weren't the spartan III's equipped with a weaker armor that had the equivalent of active camo standard?

Noble isn't made of teenagers. They're all over eighteen for sure. The youngest members are Six and Kat and I believe Kat is stated to be 23 or something? They were teens when they started, but by Halo: Reach they're adults.

The standard SIII's yes. They had SPI armor, which was a shieldless stripped down Mjolnir armor with active camo. The helmet is similar to the EVA variant in Halo 3/Reach.

Bungie released material that gives back ground on the Noble Team characters, it should be somewhere on their site. I just don't have it all memorized.

Even if they didn't release anything though, we can approximate the ages of the characters based on known dates. We known thanks to Halo: CE and Halo: The Fall of Reach, when the Battle of Reach happened (2552). We know from Ghosts of Onyx when Alpha Company was formed (2531), and when Beta Company was formed (2537). There is a 21 year gap between the formation of Alpha Company and Reach, and a 15 year gap between the formation of Beta Company and Reach. There weren't any three year olds in the Spartan III program, there might have been four years olds but at the least they were five. No one in Noble team could be under 20.

Here's my order:
1. Jun- I just love snipers...
2. Jorge- He's a tough guy with a machine gun thingy, and he's incredibly brave.
3. Noble Six- Gave it this all, got killed by being out-numbered by 7 Elite Zealots
4 Kat-
5.Carter- He just doesn't seem very cool...
6 Emile- This guys a -hole

The brit? with a heavy weapon who definitely doesn't sacrifice himself, the sarky one (asiany looking Sniper), the hot russian chick with who is definitely not Vasquez, the Skullface who also fills the twin roles of big knife and Black (who also dies saying a variation of 'I'll take you all on/that the best you got?!')? or the cardboard all american Sarge, who also definitely doesn't sacrifice himself..

What was the point of that post?
