Hey, that looks a bit like that chapter "the reborn" that you can read about in the csm codex. I like it.

Not bad - you might want to think about adding some blue into the mix as well, since bronze will go a greeny/blue colour when exposed to the elements.

This thread has a nice video on the subject of copper/bronze weathering

Excellent job! I must ask though. Is that a green ink wash over a bronze? If so, how did you keep the ink from beading up over a metallic? I've had issues with inks over metallic colors in the past.

Those look awsome. I really like the way the green wash looks over the metallic, makes them look weathered to me. I'm going to have to try this out on some things.

If you have problems with blobbing, add a small quantity of flow aid or alcohol.

If you are going to make them as The Reborn, maybe you could make a DP who looks undead-like?

Green Ink over Dwarf Bronze, you say? I must try it. Never mind Dark Eldar, I'm buying and painting some CSM now.

Any chance of a Step-by-Step Painting Tutorial? Pretty please?

Green Wash over Dwarf Bronze? I might have to try that on my Brass Scorpion! I was going to go with Tin Bitz but it comes out too dark i think.

Very Nice!!

Would be interesting how the theme transfers to vehicles. A demon prince would look quite snazzy with it.

Look forward to seeing some more progress. Keep it up

Looks awesome. Can't wait to see pics of the DP and LR!

Do you think this method of painting woudl work on a brass scorpion? I'm trying to make it look aged and worn and have used a heavy dry brush of Tin Bitz over the black basecoat but i'm not 100% happy with it.

I really like everything up to the demon prince. For some reason he doesn't look right to me. Maybe he needs a bit more definition in the red, or just a different shade of red or a different color all together. I know for sure his eyes don't make much of a point though, I can barely tell he has eyes.

Nothing currently, got out of the hobby, maybe getting back in?

The DP looks good where the red wash has gone over onto the bronze - perhaps think about doing a test area where you build up some bronze using red washes (I use flesh wash over my bronze to give it definition and red will just make it look older and more defined quicker).

The bronze just looks flat and the green is too heavily pooled in some areas and lacks interest - perhaps highlight it in a slightly bluer green to break it up a little and give it some depth?

And re-highlight the lighter areas of bronze with pure dward bronze perhaps?

You can see my bronze on these two guys:

The skin is uniformly too dark - try drybrushing a lighter red or even a grey (though do it very lightly) onto the raised areas and rewash it red to tie the colours in again. The reds on the little sword guy look a lot better.

Because there is a limited palet on the model, perhaps colour the tubes in different colours to break things up and give some more interest? (you've also missed painting the sides of some of the tubes)

I actually like the DP a lot. But i agree with the above. Maybe a quick highlight of pure Brzone on the armour and Red Gore/Blood Red on the skin to add some definition.

To start, sorry for all the swearing...

$#!^ man your painting is !*%&ing EPIC!!

Also are these supposed to be a nurgle patroned sect?

If so this is the best way I have even seen to do nurgle styled, don't know why so many people like the rotting style with guts all hanging out.

Love you.
