To be fair that does at least cut down on customers soaking up the stock themselves. Scalpers are always a problem, but so too is when people buy two or three of the same boxed set.

The more who do that the fewer sets there are for more people to get. So more special characters means more chance people get one and are done so the stock spreads out to more people.

It wouldn't be so bad if they were alternate builds like Vhordrai. Although why Drycha (which every player has had for an age now) over something like Belthanos is beyond me.

And what do you know, the rumours were true:

Yes. And for some reason this seems to be set somewhere between Old World and Age of Sigmar.

I wish they dropped the "grim" on everything but that cover does nothing for me at all... Beastmen and Nurgle fighting some boring heroes in a swimming pool? Maybe should have been skaven in sewers or river trolls etc all seems just very disjointed for now.

Points if you only build the most expensive options:

Skaven 930
Soulblight 1,000
Gloomspite Gitz 1110
Sylvaneth 1010

I dunno prices.

Tempted to pick up the Troggs. I don't love AoS, but they would fill out the gap in my Gitz pretty perfectly.

Actively trying to sell the Sylvaneth stuff though

Really makes the 40k offering look weak.

Points are higher in AoS so you don't need as many minis to get good points. There's some really rough ones on the 40k side, krieg and tau are egregious. But that comes down to internal balance issues with the codexes.

Well that adds credibility to Booles rumours, there’s even Nurgle Troggs in there.

So just to add another from his posts the reason Fyreslayers aren’t getting a 4th edition Battletome is they are being combined with Dispossed in a Khazalid Holds book.

Hm, if that's true, that would explain why there's such a generic looking dwarf on the new quest.

The soulblight box is probably the most worth it of the bunch even if you own everything in them. Vhordrai alone is worth almost as much as the entire box set.

Bloody hell, that vampire box comes out at $690AUD.

I'm not sure what these christmas boxes typically sell for, but with a 20% discount there's no way it couldn't be good value, considering Vhordrai is $330 on his lonesome. (A frankly obscene price)

For the mini of the decade, I voted for Ionus. I freaking love that miniature, and had an absolute blast painting mine!

As for the Christmas boxes, none of them this year are for armies I play or have much interest in playing, so my wallet is safe for now. I might want one of the 40k boxes, but the AoS ones are just not relevant to what I'm doing.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700

I think i'll get the Soulblight one assuming the price is still around £120 rrp. I've been wanting a second, unmounted dragon and i've always wanted to use those bats as alternative warbats for MESBG.

As much as I want to believe its possible I can't see that set being £120 - £150 maybe

I have stuck in my mind that they were twice the price of a combat patrol/spearhead.

More than that
£147.50, €190, $240

So expecting £155, €200, $250

Last year all sets cost the same but they have varied prices between sets before

Some more cool visuals from the final episode of Sigmar’s Toll, though the CGI was pretty spotty at times in this episode

-Memorians (human companions to the Reclusians) squaring up against a Rat Ogre went about as well as expected
-Prosecutors are the best looking SCE imo, and their scene attacking Skaven Jezzails was fun
-The Lord-Vigilant was awesome again, though his mount didn’t get to be creepy like in the 2nd episode

Completes the tale of the heroine that was the star of the 4th Edition Trailer. The 3 episodestotal the better part of an hour worth of Skaven/Stormcast violence, sprinkled with some lore from both factions. Leaves room for more tales featuring the surviving characters on both sides, with how it ended.

Nice to hear it's good again. Only three episodes though? Not sure how to feel about that, even if they were longer than standard. Good to hear memorials got some action, even if it does go about how you'd expect.

I was umming and ahhing over him, but then i noticed he actually sold out on the main site, which is unsual. So i just got him from Weyland with some store credit.

The only downside is I really want to finish up my Soulblight collection but that model is going to tempt me to getting more for my very slow-grow slaves to darkness

Doesn't help that there's still a few of those Darkoath Army Set's kicking around to be bought

Phew I'm safe from having anything new tempting me this week!

Great to see the Chaos Dwarves getting their big main release of models - hopefully they sell well and get a second wave at some point in the near future to really cement their position as a diverse army in the game!

Considering their launch box was a sellout near everywhere, i don't think they have much to worry about in that sense.

You say that whilst Daughters of Khaine are sitting there having been pushed in lore and selling out really well model wise and yet still having one of the smaller rosters in the game (bulked up in part by a few kits doing a lot of duel-build options and the Blood Cauldron covering a good chunk of multi-build options/leaders)
