That must have been one hell of a toaster... did you take any pictures during the building of it?

I really think it looks fantastic and would make for some awesome narrative mission play...

I love the Inquisital tower, especially the front side that looks like a building. The back side with the skull would look better done simply as a building like the front imho.

I may steal the design for a building of my own...

Wait, a wargamer going outside, nonetheless playing outside, is strictly forbidden. How dare you break the established rules we have here.

That's pretty cool stuff you have here. I'd like to see it on a table where the pieces would lie a little flatter though.

Thank you for the nice comments everyone, Because i don't actually game with anyone other than my kids , it's good to get some other peoples thoughts on things that usaully wont wee the light of day.
@ Gunzhard Just a regular tesco's Value 4 slice lol Burn the heretic but not the toast!! i had the story in mind when building a huge entrance like the eternity gate for a huge daemon host! but alas i need a new camera with flash so i can take pictures inside the house! so no build pics unfortunately, but iam learning , the next project will be well documented i assure you my friend

@ Ruzto , mmmm should be able to but with no pics might need some graphics instead. will attempt a tutorial will graphics if you are still interested?

@ Ct Gamer thank you! kind sir and your probably right about the back of the building, being the actual icon, looks kinda out of place, but looks cool in the dining room! and about the stealing!! there is no greater compliment ;-)

@Viking scott thank you very kid of you to say so.. and as for having one yourself , well next time i build one mate your at the top of the xmas list , just gotta go to a good home where it will be loved and cherished!

@ Outside are you MAD! i sent my acolytes to do my bidding whilst i remained firmly Indoors,

Very interesting and very... pretty (in a totally badass and grimdark way, of course). However, it doesn't quite work for me as a building. The I shape and using the horizontal embellishments as balconies is brilliant, I must admit. The whole back of the building is gorgeous, but it looks like an awesome wall-hanging for a game room, not the back of a plausibly functional, if embellished, building.

The door also detracts from the feel of a plausible building, for me. I mean, a 3-story tall door on a 4 story building? Maybe on something huge and cathedral-esque, but the building appears to be less than half as thick as the doors are tall. If they open inward, there wouldn't be room for anything in the tower but a flat ladder leading to the roof.

If you could feasibly slice off the back and hang it on your wall, then attach to rest of the tower to the front of a massive building as an elaborate entryway, then you'd have something (well, two things, really) jaw-dropping gorgeous and plausibly functional on your hands.

Well, there's my (hopefully constructive) criticism. Honestly, though, there's some beautiful work in this piece and a solid dose of originality. If this is your first piece in years, then I expect some pretty impressive stuff once you get back into the swing of things. Thanks for posting (we love pics ) and keep it up!

@ Oadie yeh i know it looks like it' should be s implausible , but i was aiming for a fantastical bulding more than a practical one something like the eternity gate by john blanche, having said that , the building is fully planned out and is a functionally designed build. The doors do open and the open outwards , there is then an innerdoor a huge open foyer space for daemon summoning/ hosting, with chambers off both sides for maintainance and intterogation and a cargo lift to the rear, the embelishments act as sleeping rooms for acolytes and servitors, whilst the top floor is reserverd for inquisitorial studies and acolyte studies with a cargo lift and small ladder up to the roof , i just couldn't be bothered building open this time maybe next time though. i agree about the back looking out of place though, but from most angles i designed it so you couldnt see the back whilst on the table , i quite fancy putting it on the wall but your right , far too bulky for that . And as for a grand entrance to an even bigger building mmmm thats got a lot of potential, thanks for the feed back everyone

I agree with oadie. It's excellent in every way, except I just can't imagine who would ever actually build a building like that, and what purpose it could possibly serve.

@ Ailaros, you are right of course a completely impratical building , but a inpsiring icon to put dread and fear in the hearts of imperial citizens and remind them that the inquisition is never out of sight , always watching ..always within view. I can imagine it sat atop the biggest thing in any imperial outpost. or a place of worship for the redemptionsists cults. like big brother!
drew a pic to show what i had in mind when creating it.

I think the design works perfectly fine as a building. I would imagine it's purpose is to act as a "watchtower" or an ornate fortified "bulkhead" for a stairwell/elevator shaft to a subterranean facility, etc.

As a terrain piece I prefer the "front" side that looks like the building, but the back makes for a nice conversation/display piece in a game room, etc.

Finland... the country next to Sweden? No! That's Norway! Finland is to the east! No! That's Russia!

Love the highlights of the red bricks on the background!
jk
The tower is very well made and smoothlypainted (I mean the red and white when I write smooth) the gate is also well made. How long did it take to finish it?

Sweet Jesus, Nurgle and Slaanesh in the same box!?
No, just Nurgle and Slaanesh, Jesus will be sold seperately in a blister.

I think 2 weeks or a week and a half from start, lots of late nights after kids had gone to bed phew , still not finish though there is a fresco painting inside the doors that open on hinges , and a few more details to add , so the tower looks lived in . chest full of xenos heads , com unit , captured genestealer baby, he he he ect.. will finish this week and add a new pic

Maybe it's the entrance to an elaborate underground base?

I see your point but always figured that practical stuff is the domain of the IG, the =I= is all about big and stupid.
