The title says it all, except I doubt too many people will go that far! I spotted this listing on eBay the other day and it made me bust a gut laughing because of the hyperbole of the description vs. the photo of the much more modest model. The description posted by the seller says the following: This is the best Tyranid conversion I have ever seen. It's stance combined with a menacing look really gives this model attitude. Truly one of a kind. Now here's the accompanying photo and a link to the sale page. You be the judge if the model matches the hype:

No, they put the torso on upside down to get the upright stance. With normal construction the Carnifex is very hunched over.

That looks pretty stock. I can't say I'm a huge fan. It's not that bad though, especially for Ebay.

The upright stance due to reversing the torso is an inspiration, just might be good for a plastic hive tyrant, but the two heavy weapons is totally not legal. So, no.

There's a policy here that we don't single out others to make fun of their models. I doubt the mods are going to be happy about this.

I wasn't sure what area to go with. I almost went with "off-topic". You've probably noticed I'm not big on mockery myself based on my usual posts. I wasn't really mocking the conversion. The conversion work isn't bad, but the description touting it as the best conversion ever seemed really amusing given the simplicity of the modeling work. Thanks for indulging me this one time.

One of a kind? I've got one just like it! We both must have the best conversion ever!!!
Who knew that to get the best conversion (ever!) all you had to do was reverse the torso.

I actually saw a similar "conversion" in my local GW store last week. I asked the boy who owned the model about it and it turned out that he had assembled the torso on his Carnifex upside down by accident. The result of that was a similarly upright Carnifex to the one pictured above. It occurred to me that duplicating that modeling mishap on purpose might allow one to build an all plastic Hive Tyrant conversion, something I'd been comtemplating for a Swarmlord.

Huh. Oh well, it really is a sweet and simple conversion. I used this trick, plus some customised scythes (thank you very much, mr soulgrinder) and the "regeneration" carnifex head to make my plastic Old One Eye. He looks great.

I'd have to assume that the seller hasn't seen too many 'Nid conversions.... That said, it's a neat idea, not an original one.

should also be mindful that this guy is selling his model on ebay, can't fault him for including a description to try to make the model "stand" out more to people shopping. I think calling it the best conversion ever seen gives it a better chance at selling then just telling people that you could do the same thing by flipping the torso
