Love alien bugs 
Giving tabletop a shot.
Worried about having to deal with tanks... but more worried about the damage the game will do to my wallet.

Welcome to dakka dakka!
Unfortunatly, your worries about cost are well placed. nids cost very little points so making a large army takes a while and a lot of money. don't worry though, once you've got a decent sized army nids become almost unstoppable.
Oh, and if you are still worried about tanks, throw a genestealer brood at it. Or a fex. omnomnomnomnomnom

Thanks for the warnings, thankfully it turns out the person I'll be playing against most often is really cool about non GW-proxies, so I can use a decent amount of my star wars and buggy D&D minis. Already have a 1/20th Ohm bug coming in for a Tervigon!
