I have seen a lot of players trade all of the space marine bits from the starter for ork bits. But did you realize the starter comes with an ork dreadnought too?

That is a cool conversion. I also don't think I will be using the dread for marines. this is a good idea to make it usefull for the orks

Consider the idea of using the dread copied, although I will make it very different from yours (for starters I do not have a spare kopta )

That is why I tell everyone that the secret number is 6 starters. Besides the Deathwing army and half a tactical company...

You get 4 squads of 30 orks
enough power claws for the nobs who lead them, the big mek, and the warboss
max deff koptas (15)

3 extra dreadnoughts and 3 extra def koptas to convert them.

depending on upgrades, that is already a decent 2000 point army

I am still trying to figure out how to make the big shoota into burna boy.

I am pretty sure it will involve some of the koptas exhaust pipes and wiring and detached multi-melta barrels.

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

I know someone who bought six starters, then swapped as many out as he could for more orks. More teef than sense I say. He wants some humungous Apocalypse formations though, which makes it almost understandable.

Man... why didn't I pick orks. Seems like the rule of thumb for all of their vehicles and conversions is "the junkier the better, oh and feel free to use other armies models"

That's pretty awesome. I had this idea to try and convert something like this, but have a massive Ork Warboss wearing a Dreadnought carapace. But this is really cool.

He wars on Death, for lives; not men, for flags.

Sweet! Although I think iz 'ead iz gon get shot!

Seriously, a cool conversion, and more proof that da orks can make most of the stuff in the game look good with just a little bit of conversion.

Anuvver fing - when they do sumfing, they try to make it look like somfink else to confuse everybody. When one of them wants to lord it over the uvvers, 'e says "I'm very speshul so'z you gotta worship me", or "I know summink wot you lot don't know, so yer better lissen good". Da funny fing is, arf of 'em believe it and da over arf don't, so 'e 'as to hit 'em all anyway or run fer it.

Thats just wrong, I mean cutting up an Holy Marines Dreadnought for use with Orks, I mean thats just ... just ... .... ... hmmm .. a good idea

Think I'll get another box set just for that reason. Excellent conversion and innovation (hope thats the right word) I too wanting to palm of the dread and keep all the other orky and marine stuff. but now I can do something orky with it. Any other marine-to-ork conversions you come up with post em.

I've got 2 metal dreads, 2 predators and a land raider that I plan to someday convert to the ork horde
