So what is the worst thing to happen to your models?

I ll start. When I was younger -About 15, I set up my Dark Elves on my unit because it looked so good and showed off my hobby.
Every few days my clean freak of a sister would always move them to clean the table, because I dont do a good enough job of it apparently.
Anyway, she would ALWAYS break a model or two somehow and I got sick of it.So i told her to leave the table the feth alone it is my room and I dont appreciate my stuff being broken.

Next day she decided not to move anything just cover the ENTIRE army in bleach. And to top it all off? I had just came back from a very great day out.

So, what about u?

Not my models (mine are boring nothing has ever happened) but one of the times this thread showed up there was a story about a pure Grey Knight Daemon Hunters army.

They forgot it on the train or something so someone called the cops about a suspicious looking black case left unattended on the train. They thought it was a bomb or something. Bomb quad came out and after scanning it found there was metal in it so detonated it.

Last year one of my carry trays broke between games at a tourney...

Onto the floor fell 40 metal squig herd models, 4 spear chukkas and crews, 1 rock lobba, 2 doom divers and crews.

Half still has to have the damage fixed/repainted.

MY little brother used to love watching me painting but was too young to even think of asking me if he could try it out. I had a huge collection of models at the time, all the original greater demon models, a large chaos warriors army, and my pride and joy was an archaon I had painted up to the absolute best of my ability back then.

I came home one night to notice my bedroom door open, and walked in to find a completely empty pot of blood red, a brush gently placed beside it, and every single model within 4 year old reach height repainted blood red. That was 2006, I didn't paint again till 2009.

My wife had a cat. That liked to screw with EVERYTHING I owned. It must of had my smell on it, I swear the cat hated me. Well one day it decided to knock my carry case off the table I was working at. Mostly it was just a huge annoying mess of boyz everywhere, but to my horror I saw my Warboss broke in a couple parts. This one

BEcause of the accident I had to take off the guns and completely redue the arm with the guns. It hasnt looked the same since. Needless to say, that cat "suddenly" went "missing" one "day" wait....... either way I taught him to mess with my scent, the little basterd

That is a lovely photo, Albatross! very artfull rendition of a dakkaite, but I digress! model disasters, hmmmm one time on the catwalks of Milan...nope that's a different model, my worst story would be setting up my models on a low bookcase and then having a certain four legged best friend of mine push the door open and knock them all off with a very waggy tail! then as I lunged to save them from falling, all the models i was painting at the time got knocked off my work station onto the floor and tipped over my paints to boot, ensuing a great broken mess of models and paint on my shorts, t-shirt,carpet,wall,window,shoes,labrador,finished models, socks, bookcase, so not a very fun afternoon for me!

Hey thanks mate, like I said it now looks a bit different, instead of the guns, I made a huge PK out of 2 nob klaws(which in a weird way worked out because that forearm was always just a smidge longer then the pointy one and bugged me), and have yet to figure out guns (FECKING CAT!)

I dropped my emperors champion (BT) on the floor after spending several hours converting up a backpack for him... pieces broke off, plastic bits bent, and a heart broke.

YO DAKKA DAKKA!

My models have been lucky so far... when I was 10 I wasn't the painter I am today, so that's probably the worst I've ever done to them.
Broke one of those thin plastic wings off the side of a Vyper Jetbike in the case, maybe.

Two things- both my fault.

First off, when I was in middle school, I had a huge bunk bed, and my gaming "table" was simply a big wood board I'd slide under the bed at night. Once, I forgot to slide it under and, in the middle of the night, I had to use the restroom. I jump off my top bunk... into the middle of a bunch of goblin spearmen. Screaming in pain, with those daggers in my feet, I stagger over the rest of my units. It was a massacre, let me tell you...

Second time is much less dramatic. I packed away my models when moving halfway across the country. I didn't really have a lot of money, so I wrapped them in paper towels, with layers of cotton stuffing stuff. That might have worked out, except I didn't have any hard cases, so it all went into an old gym bag (what was I thinking?) 2 moves later, I finally decide to restart playing and get out the old minis.

If the first incident was a massacre, this was an outright decimation. 3/4 of my army had some battle scars to show. Virtually no cavalry survived. None of my monsters were in fighting condition. The army that survived the best... my stunties! Their stout construction saved the day, with no new casualties (there was a single banner bearer that had been broken before the move).

Now, I'm about 75% finished restoring my guys, but still have two dragons and a lot of silver helms to go.

Well the worst i ever did was take the wrong case home one night. But quite literally I got a call from a friend the following evening about the fellow who's army it was.

So, nothing too serious and I am glad.

I've sold so many armies. :(

Worst thing to happen to my minis?

Had 3000pts of wood elves stolen off my front porch in 1995. I was moving house, and went inside with one load, when I came back for the rest, it was gone.

This wasn't badly missed, really. I hadn't played more than one game in the previous year of WHFB.

I miss the terrain that was with them. 1/35 scale Maginot line terrain pieces. Full 6' width of emplacements and fortifications.

As terrible as that is, I also find it slightly hilarious.

It also proves the guvment are Daemons!!

Nothing unusual has happened to my models, other than various broken parts due to not being taken care of.

At my old FLGS an Emperors Champion painted by the shop owner was stolen, I'm pretty sure it was the model he painted to win Silver in a GD as well, though I could be wrong about that.

In an old Games Workshop, one red shirt (he was actually wicked cool, everyone who worked there was) made an epic space marine casualty marker, almost entirely out of green stuff, and painted it nearly 'eavy metal quality.
Some guy walked in one day and nabbed it.

Wow, these are some pretty horrific stories.
The worst that happened to me was when GW came out with the separate varnish sprays (matt and gloss).
I'm a very slow painter, so i was very excited when i finished a big unit of ironbreakers. When i varnished them i accidentally grabbed the matt varnish. All my metal paint just looked gray.

Lost a load of painted models I was on the way to the hobby shop to sell when a lady pulled out in front of me and I had to slam on the brakes. This was in the days before carry cases and I had them sitting in an old box lid.

Cat broke my 4k pure DH army. Took the board it was displayed on and flipped it on to the concrete floor 3 feet below. I had to re-glue 70 DH, a Metal Ven, and around 3 metal LRC. GAH!
