Im going to make a new guy for my Astral Knights Squad (The one who went in to destroy the final Time thing the necrons created) and i was hoping to base it on this guy.


I Made the helmet out of GS (robot eye, but placing 2 eyes in exactly the same place is hard with a scalpel)


And im going to use a Sanguinary Guard Body, the muscular one, but with no scrolls, or wings.

and going to use an old Bolt Pistol arm (bent one) chop off the arm, and use an open hand from the SG kit.

the hard bit is the right arm, as i can remember, no power weapons are held in a right hand? correct me if im wrong.
Thats the bit i need help with

For the sword arm, the standard bearer arm from the Command Squad box would be perfect, with the top of the pole chopped off and the power sword added on.

Im dreading the cloak.......



and I have the emporers champion. have to chop it off, as i want the chunky sword look.

Started on the greenstuff - in the end it wouldnt hold, so had a strop

Ok so i got carried away, finished and basecoated.
gave up on the Emporers champion arm, and used a Chaos Knight arm instead


Sword and cloak are still messy, need to go at it with sandpaper

Interesting GS work on the helmet.

Very nice work to say you are copying from a picture. I honestly did not think you (or anyone else) could pull off something like that. Can't wait to see this with some paint on

the sword is at slightly the wrong angle, but nvm
going away this weekend, so will be wednesday before any progress pics are up.

k so i had a painting frenzy last night. took about 3-4 hours.

the red isnt the best, but its the best i could get with a semi-dead paint.

when compared to the original picture, the only 'difference is the angle of the sword, and the head. quite happy with it

nice highlighting on the breastplate.is it finished completely? because imo the head could do with some more detail work, when you get more paints obviously! and the thigh wings would be good. stick a few purity seals on if you get the chance , and dont forget the sword flame infact just more gold in general . i really like the model design its quite original , and your pose looks better than the pic. good work overall , and nice idea
