I wanna go back to New Jersey

After liking the effect on my stealthsuits I thought of starting to apply the scheme on the rest of the army.

So far I done six warriors

Group Shot

Pulse Carbine

Pulse Rifle 1

Pulse Rifle 2

Pulse Carbine and Gadjet (Is it supposed to be a drone controller or a commincations device?)

What do you guys think? Remember C&C are ALWAYS welcomed

Awesome! liking the heavy drybrush, i presume?

a black wash to tone down the grey, would add a sort of more 'urban' look, if you get what i mean?

other that, some awesome Tau!

They are far too chalky for my taste, but they look ok I guess. I would possibly try adding another colour in there to break things up a bit.

Yeah, I'm confused. Were they red and then got a bunch of rockcrete dust blown all over them, or are they grey and got blood in the grooves of their armor and guns?

I would expect an urban camo scheme to have actual camo on it.

The first description fits it.

It is more intended to look like they were covered with dust of fallen rockcrete buildings, or more specifically, the destroyed building terrain made of foam at my FLGS, which I should have taken pictures of to better show the example.

I didn't use greys, only two tones of blue and a white as a final drybrush to give more of a concrete/cement feel.

Otherwise I know what you mean about using a wash, I'm just a tad afraid of the "randomly placed shadow" result it has given to Firewarriors I have already washed

Wow! They look really good.
I think they'd look even better if you washed them with a darker colour.

they are not bad. Looks like an easy way to get things on the gaming table....im sure you could add some more detail to them...or like others have mentioned...add another grey in there or a light badab wash to give it a better look.

Looks good, but I'd like to see how it works out on larger models, like crisis suits.

I like the theme you are trying to achieve. It looks cool. My only suggestion from afar is the "cloth" areas that are dark need to be dusted also very lightly I would add. I am not sentimental in the least but you should check out on youtube video and pics on varying websites about what survivors looked like coming from ground zero on 9-11. Maybe a bit too "heavy" in amount but it might give you a better feel on where the dust would go. Just my two brain cells.....

I throw the small ones back!

I completely agree with Tom, they don't look bad by any mean though.

These look good. I like the chalky effect because it looks like the squad intentionally rubbed ash and dust on their armor to increase their concealment.

+1 to adding some wash to them. The drybrush just takes too much away from the mini.

I like what your going for, but I think it'd also look better if you left their guns a solid color and not frosted. Maybe do Dark grey rifles and carbines, would be a suggestion so they kind of stand out making you think that it's the armor that has the urban-dust camo and that they didn't just walk out of an artillery bombardment.

At first they looked way too chalky for my taste but then I imagine them dug into a crater position, caked in dust and practically neck-deep in rubble. It works. These guys obviously haven't been out of the front for a lonnnng time and that's pretty cool. I would make the guns or something a little more solid, though. I wouldn't know how to do it, because I suck, but it'd look good. Awesome.

Really like the idea. My only suggestion would to either dust the cloth or bring down the chalkyness of the armour and gun.

That doesn't look urban, just dirty. I mean it looks kinda cool, but it's obviously just drybrushing to the nth degree.

It looks like you just didn't like the previous red and then have tried to repaint the model but not managed to cover the reds..

For something to look dirty it needs more detail and way more contrast IMO.
