Hot shots part duex
Blazing saddles
Space balls

JB: I like the concept of a free Shrike roaming through the treetops of the jungle. I'm not sure that I like the idea of a real Shrike sitting on my couch eating my Skittles.
corpsesarefun: Thank god I missed be nice to shrike day.
greenskin lynn: because of all the skittles and soda, you basically live off sugar water, like some sort of freakish human-hummingbird hybrid.

The greatest comedy film ever is Kung Pow. It is simply the stupidest film ever made and I love it for that.

My top five (in no order):

Shaun of the Dead
Kung Pow
Zoolander
The Hangover
A Fish Called Wanda

I have pretty bad taste in films.

Thus do we invoke the Machine God.

Thus do we make whole that which was sundered.

Kung Pow: That's a lot of nuts!

Monty Python and the Quest for the Holy Grail: Now go away, or I shall taunt you a second time!

The Princess Bride: I do not think that word means what you think it means.

Blazing Saddles: That guy didn't give me a harumph!

Space Balls: I knew it. I'm surrounded by donkey-caves.

Young Doctor Frankenstein: What Knockers! Why thank you doctor.

Clerks: You think the average storm trooper knows gak about welding?

Dogma: Never let it be said that your anal-retentive attention to detail has never delivered positive results.

Inglourious Basterds: That's a bingo!

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas.
Groundhog Day.
Rosencrantz & Guildenstern are Dead.
L'auberge Espagnole.
The Dinner Game.
Borat.
Bruno.
Heck, Ali G Indahouse is pretty great too.

More recent stuff I liked include Stranger Than Fiction, Talladega Nights, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Beerfest, and Eurotrip. So my taste isn't entirely discriminating.

Beerfest without Super Troopers? I am disappointed.

Heresy.

I would go the other way around on that one. Neither as bad as Club Dredd. Slammin' Salmon wasn't too bad though.

I heart me some Broken Lizard. Speaking of which, I was shocked to see that Christina Hendricks' husband is the awkward freaky 'Shnozzberries taste like shnozzberries' kid from Super Troopers.

Anyways, back to topic... I'm kinda lowest common denominator when it comes to things I consider comedy:

Super Troopers is a win.
Kung Pow I would have to agree was a guilty pleasure.
Princess Bride, of course.
Idiocracy was really bleh the first time I saw it. Then I couldn't stop talking about it and watched it again. It is now a classic.
Adam Sandler movies. (Don't throw stones please)
Anchorman
BASEketball/Orgasmo
Bubble Boy
Dude, Where's my Car?
Erik the Viking
Gamers
UHF
Harold and Kumar
The Specials

I disagree with some Mannahnin's because I think F&L, R&G and GHD are all very serious movies with comedic elements. I may be a bit weird on that though. I mean, would Ghostbusters or Big Lebowski be comedy? Funny parts, dead serious.

“We may observe that the government in a civilized country is much more expensive than in a barbarous one; and when we say that one government is more expensive than another, it is the same as if we said that that one country is farther advanced in improvement than another. To say that the government is expensive and the people not oppressed is to say that the people are rich.”
