I'm convinced that I'm going to include a boatload of Wracks in my army, but I can't really decide how I'm going to model them. I don't want to use a bunch of greenstuff and I also don't want to get away from the Dark Eldar feel....but I can't really find much

I'm thinking about taking this guy (on the left):

and try to paint him in a way that feels like Hellraiser...I figure I can use those fists as my flesh gauntlets and just arm swap around for 2 hand weapons. Though I'll probably have to cast the helmets to keep the "gimp" feel to them.

anyone have any better suggestions?

Based on the artwork, I was thinking some kind of kitbash involving Flagellants (for the lower half/apron area), Chaos Marauders (torso and arms) and Chaos Warriors (for the enclosed helmets).

Not sure if the Marauders will be too topheavy on the Flagellant legs, though. And I'd have to think of something for the back rack thing.

Wracks are the new "baby" Grotesques, they moved Grotesques towards an Ogryn sized model and Wracks are like the old Grotesques.

I'm not that familiar with the artwork, but I'm using these guys: http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?prodId=prod1050048&_requestid=87941 as the foundation. I have an extra box of Warriors off preorder, will probably use Warrior legs and ghoul torsos/upper bodies, with some patchwork armor, chains, etc. I was thinking about getting eldar guardians, actually, and using their legs/parts instead, with the idea that the wracks were experiments done on captured prisoners.

Ok, cool. Is an all Grotesque style army possible now? Are Wracks troops?

If you take a Haemonculus as an HQ, Wracks become troop choices

Agreed with skarboy, the ghouls would be your best starting point. However you probably want a few more "elfy" bitz in there as well: sticking some pointy-eared heads on one or two of them would do well, even if you had to GS over the face to make them different from the original kits.

Infinity: Way, way better than 40K and more affordable to boot!

From the art in the Codex, Empire Flagellant bodies are where I would start. Add some extra arms, blades on the hands from the extra gun blades on the Warriors. Different spikes from various kits. I would use a Chaos Warrior head with the horns removed to make the iron masks on them as well. I have some ides, I just need time to try out the conversion I have in mind.

I'm thinking I might just use my old Grotesque models as Wracks until they come out, and instead make up some new Grotesque models out of either Ogres or Ogryns.

While flipping through the DE codex this model came to mind as a good base for a Wrack or Grotesque conversion.

I used bits from the OOP DE Warrior sprue in order to make my Wracks: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_rAC76iFZnBs/TODWOCiKVFI/AAAAAAAAAJw/7Py3Fg6iIEc/s1600/IMG_20101114_214942.jpg

Although I would tend to agree that Vampire Count Ghouls and Skeleteons are they way to go, if you don't have other bits just laying around.

When you've read this post, go to your previous post, look left and you'll find the art. It is your profile picture!

I would say a box of ghouls + a box of Wyches would make a good start. Throw in some extra bits, and you should be good to go, with about 20 Wracks.

I think the 'chosen heads upgrade pack' has a load of 'Collander' style faceplates, you would need to chop off the horns and they are metal though. I would go with marauder bodies and legs with ghoul arms with shoulder pads of some kind to hide the slight siize difference and extra arm socket if you are going for that look. Weapons are a bit more difficult the old DE warriors sprue had a bunch of punch dagger hands that would work well, i'm sure loads of people are desperate to sell their old DE miniatures. [edit] the chosen head looks naff, just find some chaos warrior ones from somewhere.
