I'd like to point out, that one week later I can conclude this was one of the most fun games I've ever played. (I was the eldar player)

Good camera, lots of lighting, great table, great battle report. Way too many tanks for my liking.

I also loved the background music throughout the video. In short, very well done.

Eh, I admit that it was very much a shooting game. The only units that weren't pure shooting (the combined infantry squad and the shining spears + striking scorpions) didn't have a decisive effect. That could have gone differently if I'd used the scorpions more aggressively or not been unlucky on that difficult terrain+pinning test; or if luke had used the infantry more aggressively. But it was certainly not a boring game for the contestants .

I think people get bored of seeing tank armies blast each other, since there's not much variation in most peoples' tanks, fewer conversions and such to look at. But to play with, it's not as if moving vehicles is any more boring than moving infantry. It's quicker and easier, if anything.

It was a nice battle report, lots of tanks, love it!

Sorry guys, but i stopped half way though. Tank battles not my thing. However, its good to see you lot having so much fun. "OMG Im getting owned hahaha" is great to hear rather then crying and getting angry. Nice.

Apparently the days of 40k units are yesterday and lots of tank battles are being played these days. Ill call it a 'fad'. Ill stick with my units.

Nice report, though I don't find tank battles too iinteresting, I did think it was funny that you kept wrecking your own tanks with failed terrain tests.

Great report, fun to watch.

But that first roll by Rico was clearly a cocked dice! I think that means Eldar win.

Aside from the music at the start, that was awesome. Charismatic players without annoying voices and a nice overview of what looked like a fun game.

I'm revisiting this battle because something important occurred to me - I found out that if a vehicle moves flat out and wrecks itself on terrain, the occupants are destroyed. Meaning I should have lost my scorpions - they didn't do anything all game afterward anyway, but Luke should have won 18-16. Bastard.

Obviously, under the 'play it as it lies' system, the draw still stands! Just thought I'd point it out.

Other thoughts on the game - both of us could have attacked a bit more decisively. My reprieved scorpions could have moved straight up to attack his infantry while they were distracted by the jetbike autarch, and if Luke wanted he could have advanced his combined squad as a sort of screen in front of his hellhounds and demolisher - that would have stopped my shining spears from getting at them.

I demand a rematch, 3000 points this time!
