I found this over at TMP; since I don't know how many of you are TMP members I thought I would share.

With a bit of work they could be more detailed, but on the whole they're already good looking.

Definitely a great idea, I would like to see ones that use the crates as a frame as opposed to it being the entirety of the building.

Same here; when I do these I'm bound to add floors.

I love that. Especially the one of them stacked seven high, looking down at the ground.

I am inspired to want to play a game using these bad boys as Twin Towers kinda constructions. Elevation rarely makes much difference in 40k - it is very much 2D with a few bumps, but this could create a truely 3D battle.

You'd need a few special rules. After all, you'd expect Jump Packs to struggle to get to the top quickly, but they'd be aces at stopping you just before your splotch at the bottom. Ranges shooting upwards would need to be very slightly decreased, but ranges shooting downwards, not so much. (Unless you use the argument that ranges are limitd by human factors rather than actual physical constraints imposed by the weapon.)

Though guards may sleep and ships may lay at anchor, our foes know full well that big guns never tire.

TBH, they're actually really nice. I'll have to find myself some of those! I would definitely add doors/arches but would not go high, i would just have lots!

Well found,

Thanks; I hang out on TMP and Terragenesis a bit so I stumble across these on occasion. I think they look good, especially given how much effort has to go into them.

I used to browse Terragenesis quite a bit, but not so much these days as I found a lot of the stuff to be fairly useless.

This, however has real potential. Great find Infantryman!

If anyone in the UK finds a source of those tiny crates can they post it here. My google fu so far fails to turn up any small crates that are not slab sided.

Thanks!

Surprisingly effective actually, and if you were playing a game with 40K scale titans you'd be looking at them not the scenery anyway, so they would be more then passable.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

Nothing is my local Wilkinsons, Staples, poundland or market. And my google searches have only turned up slab sided boxes, not the open cell ones.

Hmm... looks like ill have to try B&Q, but ask staff for their packaging crates, see if they will sell them...

Failing that ill try the cheap DIY/pound shop in town and let you know... they will be great for the club, so im desperate to find these!!
