From the newsletter:

You know we sell Battlefoam right? You know it is amazing stuff and protects your figures like nothing else. Well we at Wayland have been distributing Battlefoam now for about 9 months and have been amazed at how popular it's been in the UK and Europe. You have probably seen someone somewhere carrying a bag. One of the problems with foam etc is that because it is bulky it costs a significant amount to ship across the ocean adding VAT and duty adds again to the costs and so what should be a well priced product can as an import seem well more expensive than we would like.

So what have we done? Well after working together with Battlefoam and negotiating hard with freight companies we have managed to cut the importation costs significantly. What does this mean? With immediate effect we are cutting Battlefoam prices from between 6% and 30%. Only a few are dropping 6% and almost everything is dropping over 15%.

What does this mean if you have an item on order now, that hasnt yet shipped? Well we will refund you the difference to the new price. Also if you have placed an order in the last 30 days get in touch with our helpdesk and we will try and do something for you.

For example a pluck foam filled 1520XL drops from £160 to £130. There is no better time to getting your troops protected.

You know whats missing in the dakka articles? A comparative with Battlefoam/ Kaiser multicase/ Sabol/Feldherr.
I believe battlefoam has a lot more competition in EU were Kaiser and Feldherr have better prices, and this price reduction does really help Battlefoam cause over here.

GLad to see waylands importing the stuff as a distributor, I hope they sell a bunch of them and prices get even more closer to the other EU bags... or we get access to custom cutted Battlefoams foam.

BTW the new stuff at BF looks awesome Im refering to hybrid trays and the new P&P stuff, very clever.

Two more interesting items for you.. We have 2 more sites launching on the same day. One is another games site.. using a slightly different business model. The second is a departure for us but selling a range of products most gamers will be interested in. at least to some extent.

My guess is that the second one will be Battlefoam EU. Hopefully with the production of trays here (which would mean we get them a little faster and cheaper). They said something about business deals on 40K radio when talking about Romeo being here in Europe.

Romeo said something about big things happening for European fans. I emailed him about it, since I was hoping wed be able to pick up some foam at a better price fairly soon. Hre said that it would be late 2011 However, now with the new prices on Wayland, I got no excuses anymore

Guys we have been the exclusive Battlefoam distributor for Battlefoam for some time now

The bulk of foam as mentioned makes shipping expensive but the deal we just did to bring those costs down is significant.

On most items now the US to UK/EU price difference is hardly much at all. We want Battlefoam everywhere in Europe.

And our other sites... not Bfoam related And that doesnt include the relaunch of the Wayland site or the special news next week.

is there any way you guys could find a way for EU members to be able to order custom trays through you which you could then distribute, because thats whats really getting at me

Seems pointless to me. I mean look at all the Battlefoam ads on Dakka, you really think they're going to say anything negative about them in said comparison article?

Someone explain to me how Battlefoam is superior to Sabol?

I really like Sabol... But I'm willing to listen to a pitch.

Others also have ads on dakka so yeah I would espect a honest critic. From what I have seen here on dakka people can make negative comments (if backed up and not just for the sake of negativity) about BF or others.

Just for completeness, there is also Intersponge as an army transport bags producer (originally from Singapur) which I use and am pleased with. In contrast to the other manufacturers, here the miniatures are transported standing horizontally, resulting in a slimmer bag:

Don't think that Battlefoam's quality is in doubt, some people just don't like his legal fights with other producers.

Perhaps it's just me, but that kind of sounds like a prophylactic...

While I am not a big fan of all the legal drama going around, I can't argue with the fact that the Battlefoam guys have a military discount. Good quality, price (with discount) level with most of the "economic" brands... Gotta go with what the wallet can handle.

This is the crux of the issue for me. I didn't mind Battlefoam much at first, despite the fact that his original method of promotion was a tad dishonest ("Hey guys, check out this really cool foam company...okay yeah, I own it, sorry for being misleading!"), but this predatory "There can be only ONE!" crap really turns me off. It doesn't seem to bother others, and that's fair enough, but for me it just reflects badly on the company as a whole...mainly because there's no actual infringement and they're just trying to bully everyone else out of business, even going as far as going after the Warstore and Sabol here recently.

In my opinion you let your product do the talking. And let your customers spread the word, if your product really is just that good then people will buy it. I'd be buying from them now if it weren't for all the legal drama, which persists despite the fact that the courts said he had no case.

Well I'm quite picky about some things, and to me the defenition of quality has a wide range of atributes before I can say I dont have doubts about it... There's room for improvement and from reviews you read online you can clearly see some evident faults on Battlefoam as well as others... it boils down to does Battlefoam atributes justify a bag most of the times considerably more expensive than EU competition?
This is why I would love to have a review about similar bags comparative... I can make my own judgement on the incomplete information on all sites about their bags but a side by side review would be very usefull to me.

Do I buy 2 Feldherr's discreet bags or just one battlefoam one with all that jazz etc that really is not the kind of color apropriate for a guy of my age? Which one does hold more minis, pick&pluck quality, are these bags waterproof? Hummm hordebags from battlefoam has some metal nails beneath the bag on the files section, do they get rusty? Why are Feldherr foams range so limited and the glue thing looks a bit strange... Kaiser is waterproof, great range of options but dont the bags fabric looks like cheap stuff, thank god for black color option because that blue will make someone on the road blind... the list of doubts goes on and on...

As for legal side of things watched the debates, participated on some and will vote with my wallet if theres need for it but atm I rather not drag that subject to my search for the optimal bag for my personal use.

Edit: just remembered something, wasnt there a new company with some pink bags and some really nice foams with some blue parts?

They're out of Pink Bags though, and while you can buy it with Blü foam included, the two are separate companies all together. Really nice stackable bags that fit Sabol size trays.

They look really nice even if the bag has a bomb for a logo... on a airport is not very smart.
