I wanna go back to New Jersey

I heard that Tau codex was pencilled in for August 2011 and new crisis suits are a certainty.

What scares me is that these new crisis suits will go for the marketting makeover that Blood Crushers did. (e.g. instead of being sold one per box at ~$20, three of them are put in ONE box and sold at ~$50-60)

All I ask is, can this be a most certain likelihood for the path of the crisis suit? Because if it is I may have to give up on my first and most loved army

More likely it'll be later in the year than august, but it's possible. I doubt Tau will be before Necrons and Daemonhunters, who far more desperately need it.

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

It's possible, but why would that cause you give up on an army? Odds are good that crisis suits will get a points drop, and so you'll want more of them.

I wouldn't count on it. They'll probably stay as they are, as a single plastic kit.

Bloodcrushers would've have been modeler's dream if they were sold separately. GW just decided to make more money off them this way.

Hopefully by that time the economy gets better and the prices go back to normal.

I don't get paid very often or by much. Meaning, taking an investment into something around that price range would take a considerable amount of time from my perspective (~5-8 weeks). Also, wanting more would just stack on more development time and less time actually using the list.

OTOH, if there are new crisis suits the price of older suits will drop as people try to replace them.

Online, or in stores

When the new Deff Dread was released over here, the price of the old metal one was far higher. Same goes for boxed Nobz Squads also as I recall.

Online. If your'e on a budge, you should be buying stuff used. Of course, you should also save up to buy larger lots and enjoy a substantial discount. it's possible you have literally painted every model you own, and thus need to buy when you get paid, but that's unlikely. If that is the case, that sucks, but dont' worry, before too long you'll be like most gamers and have far more money than time.

Crisis suits are currently 22.50 (20 bucks in my FLGS). You would be sad if three of them were in one box and cost 60 bucks?

You lost me.

I currently have four suits (excluding one a friend donated), all bought within the period of 2 years (08-09), which were before that mariginal price change and when I had more money and less time in between updates. As I have told in previous posts, I'm am rather short on funds and have a large gap for when they are replenished. Essentially taking too much time to update an army and have less hobby time can be a pain.

Even if it costs less per model, it costs more per purchase. If you can afford the cost per purchase, you win with lower per unit costs. If you can't, you lose.

You'd get mad if they had an overall price drop, and an improved kit?
That is just plain nonsensical. If you can only afford one crisis suit at once, buy one from a bits site like battlewagon bits.

I agree with general sentiment here. More models for less total money is a good thing.

They way I see it, the OP has 2 options.

Option 1: Pony up the cash, plain and simple. Save up. Put aside what you an afford to, until you can afford the set.

Option 2: Pony up less cash. I'm sure if the box set comes out in this form, there will still be ways to get a single suit. Ask in the Swap Shop since there will be people who buy the set who only need 1 or two, and are wlling to part with the others. Better yet, go in "one thirdsies" with someone else at the store.

I don't see GW lowering prices even if the world economy improves.
