Hello All,
I am wanting to make a few wartrukk and battle wagon conversions for my ork army I am starting. I saw a n older thread where a guy built one using plasticard a hummer model:
http://www.irondogstudios.com/images/bw1/mek_bw1.html
I Cant seem to figure out what size tires hes using for his truck or for this second one: Or what size model hes using for the hummer.

If I ever decide to do an Orc army (though I cant really see that happening b/c I have 7 armies on the chopping block and none of them are orc!) I think one of the most intruiging parts about it is the fact that converting or creating their vehicles gives you perpetual possiblities. I love all of the converted vehilces better than anything created by GW. You can probably find a few actual plastic model kits to bash together and make something real nice. Post your work if you decide to go this route!

I used to build my own Ork vehicles and recently started a few projects just for the fun of it so this is a fresh topic for me. When I first started out I did a lot of experimentation and eventually figured out that in most cases 1/35 scale is passable with minor chopping, 1/24 scale is too big, and 1/32 scale is "perfect". Unfortunately most military vehicles come 1/35 and you may have a tough time finding 1/32 models. But the 1/35 vehicles share a close enough footprint to the new GW Wartrukk (such as an M3 Bradley or M113 APC) that initial conversion to make it look reasonably scaled is minimal.

Have a look at Toy Soldiers Depot website, most of their stuff is 1/32, with some cars/trucks about 1/43. Really cheap, even with shipping to UK, and very adaptable.

You should make a vehicle out of an exotic car! Then it does not need red stripes. lol

the first truck's wheels look like they came from any of the 1/25 scale monster truck kits, and the second truck's wheels (rims especially) look like they're Lego parts
