Hey guys do me a favor and settle a small dispute. All you have to do is pick a number between 1 and 10. That's it.

I hate hard counters. In a game of rock, paper, scissors, I hate playing any of the factions because no matter what you choose you might as well not deploy against your hard counter. I want to use a gun. Rock, paper, and scissors could all probably still beat gun, but gun will never feel like a game is a lost cause. |

It's either about what number people tend to pick or something to do with the chaos gods.
Go go lucky number 7!

So loyal. So tenacious. Truly you were the attack dog of the Emperor. You took no pleasure in what you did. I knew that then, and I know it now. But all things change, my brother. I'm not the same as I was, and you're... well, let us not mention where you are now."

Ok, so a few people at my FLGS and I are in a blood bowl league, and in this game after every match you must randomly determine an MVP who gets an exp bonus. This is not 100% easy as most teams start with 11 players.
They decided to do that by going up to a random person in the store and asking them to pick a number between 1-11. I commented on how just psychologically, some people are more inclined to pick certain numbers.
For example, without even knowing it, or maybe with knowing it, some people will NEVER pick the boundry numbers of 1 or 11, just because they momentarily, before they even think about it, feel that because of the range of 1-11 they should pick something inbetween.
Tabletop gamers will either pick or never pick the number 7, as 7 is such a common number for us (the average roll on 2D6, which comes up alot)
Some might have stranger tendencies, for example because 7 is so common, they will never choose 7, nor 6 nor 8. Just subcontiously.
I suggested that we use the tiles (provided in the starter set...) that are numbered 1-16, and just put 1-11 in a cup and pick one at random without looking, but they think that that's too much work.
Maybe this thread is pointless, but is it really harming anyone? There really is no reason to lock it.

As per the rules, we lock pointless threads. Butyou have an interesting set of ideas there that merit some discussion. Please retitle the thread accordingly and copy/paste that post into your OP to avoid the lock.

Lol! If people read that post the results will be random because they know of the experiment.

If people read these posts, the "experiment" won't work either. I think the lesson here is that Dakka is not that kind of laboratory. @OP: Feel free to open another thread about this that meets the meets the requirements of DakkaDakka rules as I have explained them to you.
