Hey all, I'm pretty new to the game, and here is a preliminary list I'm working out. It's a 2000 point army list. Let me know what you should I could change to have a more efficient army and what I could add to made a 1500 point army.


HQ 1:

The only things I would change would be some of the sternguard loadout and adding of rhinos to them and the tactical marines.

They are extra deadly at the 12 inch range, which means that for maximum effect they need to be close to the bad guys, which means they likely need to be on the move. Also, Las Cannons are cheap and Multi Meltas are free for tactical marines so if you want some of those I would stick them there. The Sgt's combi-plasma: You already have ammo that can break ap 3 or wound on 2+ so the plasma is the least useful of the combi weapons. As for the rest of the squad 8 combi flamers seems a bit much but they are cheap and you still get the SG ammo so whatever.

Get Rhinos.

Oh where is Vulkan going to go? He can't teleport in with terminators and he won't fit in a rhino that has 10 marines(still get rhinos).

Don't forget if you teleport in you are stuck there for 1 turn, typically in a big cluster...

Sorry as far as additions go:

Dropping half the terminators and putting them, the Libby and Vulkan in a LR of some sort, LRR or LRC I think, is a good way to smash face, but it costs more than those 5 terminators you would be replacing.

Outside of that, I would start adding tactical marines in rhinos with melta guns and missle launchers. 1 or 2 10 man squads.

I think you don't need a LR here... termies can DS using the teleport homers ... you can't charge the first turn but they're pretty resilient so they should b e able to withstand almost everything the enemy could fire with...
The only suggestion is to add rhinos or razorback to the tacticals... and drop pod the sternguard (why all that flamers??? you have a nasty plan right??? but thei're a lot of point..)

I'd drop some equipment from the landspeeders... they're cool but i think, if you play vulkan, all they need is the combimelta. And do not stick the librarian to the termies, but to the sternguard... They're not that resilient, and force dome could help... (if you have enough points, you could make a thought about tigurius)
