well with the new forgeworld stuff I though I would have a go a building some red scorpion stuff, start it off small and we shall see how it goes. First up the WIP tactical squad. still plenty to do on these and the photos are a little grainy but you get the idea.

Vert nice, dark look to them. Agreed skin needs some work (mine is awful, so cant really judge), but great start!

Thanks for all the comments, I did a bit of work on them last night mainly weapons and back packs, also started painting on some of the tactical markings, I will post pictures later. Also dont worry about the skin its miles off being finished. Any way bye for now and thanks for keeping me motivated

They really are nice models, though i wondered if I have a few too many in this squad, I might rotate a couple out into another squad. What does everyone think?

They look really good. mixing the the armour up was a good call. well painted too, have you got the librarian kit? as for mixing them into other squads i think you should wait until you have more painted then you can see for yourself

I don't know... Keeping them all in one squad gives the squad a distinctive look on the tabletop. I kinda like the idea of a group of brothers that have served together wearing the older MKs of armour.

Time for a bit of an update, still some work to do on these but, Im pretty happy with them, look much better with bolters and back packs I hope you agree. I still have some touch ups and and to do a little wear and tear on them.

Also im not certian about the yellow stripes on the bolters, might remove them, they look ok on the new pattern but not the older pattern ones, what does eveyone think?

Ok everyone I need some advice, I cant decide which head to use on my captain, what do you all think?

first up we have stoic looking face, maybe a bit bland, I quite like it though



second we have a raven guard seargent head, quite scarred, though to me it looks a little sad, possibly my least favorite



and lastly we have captain korvydae's head, this is a great head loads of detail, though it might be a bit large, as captain korvydae is massive compared to a normal space marine

I like the 1st. No way the 3rd would get a helmet on over that melon.

Where'd you get the sword from btw?

The sword is from the empire general kit, a runefang I think, quite a nice sword

onto some pics, here is the calgar head, now I really like this one seems more in proportion, and is nice and shouty too

Yer they are the etched bits, some really nice detail on them

I like the Korvydae head best, just cut the neck down so that it sits lower into the armour? the champion is looking pretty much win aswell, nice posing on it. been thinking about getting some fw brass etch, looks good on. Now paint, moar paint

Ok little bit of an update, I have decided on this head for the captain, which is a slimmed down version of korvydae's, with the side wires and piping removed


Also I have started work on squad two for my army, all still in the early stages, but im happy so far with the poses.

Captain looks great, what head is that on the apoth? any chance of more of a close up?
