A new model, mastered by Leo Blackband again, although I did do some of it too. Its called the Scrap Tank. Yellow and Brown is my new fav colour scheme, Im going to have quite a large Chocolate and Banana Gang soon!

All parts are available separately as usual, and the turret is only £2.50....I quite like the turret.

The paint job makes the model look terrible IMHO. Looking at the unpainted stuff, it's a little rough edged, although that's to be expected for a "scrap tank", but on the painted one it practically looks like someone slapped something together with play dough. I'm going with all the rust and scraped paint effects messing with the edges and lines.

I really like it, very Orky The prices are always right too! Speaking of, do you have a price for this yet Curtis?

"Orkses never lost a battle. If we win we win, if we die we die fighting so it don't count. If we runs for it we don't die neither, cos we can come back for annuver go, see!"

I dig how in a setting where giant, muscled fungus men ride Mad Max cars and use their own teeth as currency, the concept of little engineering dudes with beards was considered a step too far down the aisle of silliness.

No offense to your paintjob, but I thought the model looked horrible until I scrolled down and saw the close ups of individual parts. I like the model alot, but the paint ruins it.

I don't see any possible reading where that could not be construed as an offense to the paintjob, really.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

Everyone knows that if you say "no offense" first then it magically makes whatever you say after that completely inoffensive in every way.

I can just imagine it, "No offense, but you have cancer." your doctor will say and all will be alright.

That said, excellent base to create orky tanks. The paintjob is fine, it conveys the rusted old scrap heap great.

I like the model, the price and the paint job. Maybe you should always give the dimensions of the completed model.

If you discuss the paint job, you should differentiate between colour choice and execution. While not everyone might like the colours, the rust effect is done very well.

Haha, Im happy with the paint scheme, but it does seem to be getting some negative crits on other forums too! Im not offended by what is after all an opinion! Rusty yellow looks great to me,

Its made with the same tracks as the Iron Grumbler, and here are some scale shots:

I love the overall 'look' and I LOVE the bigger size, I just wish it wasn't so... ramshackly - that way I could easily use it as a "true scale" Rhino 'count as'!

I disagree - I like that paint scheme.

This is a modification of the Iron Grumbler kit - the same kit, but with a turret.

I bought four Iron Grumblers, and they're really good kits. Slightly bigger than a Rhino, but perfect for Plague Marines/Orks.

Both the Scrap tank and the Grumbler are nice clunky tanks, add a Grendal ARV and you've the makings of a Adeptus Mechanicus survey team, old, old Black Templar tanks, not just Orky stuff. By buying extra bits from the Tridlins range you can customise to your heart's content, as with a bit of filing and filling most bodies seem to fit between a pair of tracks. Pics to follow...

You're welcome. I'm just catching up after a spell of hospitalisation and recuperation; a week spent building and painting these has been time well spent, and I like "zombie" threads. Now, if I can only get some pics uploaded you'll be glad too.

And we're all glad to hear that you're on the mend. But please don't dig up old threads just to add a comment like this. If, for example, you make a model of this then it's own thread with perhaps a link to this one would be a better way to go about it.

No real harm done though. Carry on chaps .
