Well, after much writing, and re-writing, it's pretty much ready to play!

What is "Inquisimunda"?

Well, it's difficult to say.

For years I've been a fan and player of Necromunda, Games Workshop's skirmish-level 28mm tabletop game set in the darkness of the Underhive. With the release of Necromunda: Underhive (sometimes refered to as "Necromunda, Version 2"), I've been missing the inclusion of the Arbitrator Scenario and the ability for simple Necromundan gangers to fight such diverse opponents as Chaos Space Marines, Eldar Rangers, and various beasts. I've always thought, 'how can Necromunda be adapted to utilize more of the 40K universe...?'

Inquisimunda is my answer to that. Taking the basic framework of Necromunda and adapting the ruleset to fit within the larger context of the 41st millenium. In this way, games are no longer restricted to simple gang fights between rival warlords of such petty squabbles as 'turf' or 'respect'. Instead, Inquisimunda allows players to fight as valiant (or cursed) Inquisitors working to preserve the Imperium, petty noble barons furthering their own agendas, Rogue Traders looking to explore strange new worlds (and get rich doing so), in addition to many others.

I should mention that the germination of this idea is NOT my own. For that, I have to thank migsula over at DakkaDakka.com and his excellent thread "The Jade Vessel"

Enjoy!

I don't game anymore... just model. But back when i did play Necromunda was allways my favorite and i have to say from what i have seen and read so far, Iquisimunda is just brilliant. It perfectly opens up the 40k universe to so so much scope and possibility. It fills in the gaps so to speak.

You should be very proud.

I may even convert up a warband just for the hell of it.

Seen this mentioned a few times, always wondered what it was. Thanks a bunch for the release, I've been thinking about converting up a guard killteam for a while now, and this makes it even more tempting.

I've made the rulesets publicly viewable, so you shouldn't have to sign-in the Google to view them. I just logged out and clicked through and I can view it.

Logged out of google.

It's your phone. All the docs are in PDF format, which won't open on my mobile internet either.

Necromunda carries a pretty big cult following. Id love to see them do what they did with Space Hulk, a limited time release of a revamped version. A minor tweak of the rules (maybe) along with some nicer plastic minis and terrain...Id be on it as fast as I was Space Hulk.

Ditto for Blood Bowl and Man O War.

And it isn't giving me any options to log out of google because I've never logged into google. It's doing the opposite and giving me a page to log in to google and won't do anything else.

When I go to pull up the expanded rules the page is blank then when I go to pull up the alien races it does the whole google thing the only one that worked was the actual Necromunda rules. I haven't tried the others, maybe I'll just try those on my actual computer.

Uhm, I just noticed... Genestealer cults have a 50% chance of having a Purestrain join their forces for each battle, and a 17% (1 in 6) chance of bumping that up to D3 purestrains- all for free?!?

How on earth is that balanced? It seems way more powerful than the advantages that other forces get. Or am I missing or misunderstanding something?

Some Inquisitors can get Deathwatch Astartes, some groups can get Chaos Marines, some cults can get Deamons or Daemonhosts...so while Allies can be great, they don't gain experience and can actually hurt you in certain scenarios.

Also, these are the first versions of the ruleset. I ask that players let me know what works and what doesn't so I can refine the rules, as it's difficult and time-consuming enough just writing them all out.

They did that once and it was called underhive (not to be confused with the excellent supplement: battles in the underhive). It sucked and they took out sustained fire dice etc etc.

Long shot and possibly expensive but have you tried the Slaves to Darkness/Lost and the Dammed books. Not read one in 15+ years but I'm sure they had rules (RT/2nd Ed I grant you) for summoning deamons.

Would probably be more detailed that anything that has appeared in a Chaos Codex, which would suit I-Munda.

Did Inquisitor have any demon summoning rules, could be worth a try?

Good work on the ruleset btw!

Hmmm.....

Well, Allies are currently working as a D6+Investigation Rating vs. [#] threshold before each scenario. For example, some Inqusition Cells would have to score a 13 or 14 for 1 Grey Knight on a D6+8 (Investigation Rating).

Thinking about doing it pre-scenario, rather than in-game, to speed up playtime. Looking at a mechanic that helps if the warband has lots of models and/or sacrifices a model to add to the score.....

My Brother and I are veteran Necro players. we are both very excited about trying out your version of the rules.
we've already found so things that need fixing and some small gaps... and that's just from what we've read so far.

We'd like to add our 2 cents if you don't mind.... I've been playing 40k since 2nd edition. I'm sure we could help you alot with a little playtesting.

I have a few questions
When will true inquisition and spyers be done?
will necrons weapons points covered?
will the splinter rifles be updated

is there anything you need some groundwork done on?

As to the first 2 questions - Hopefully sometime over the next couple weeks. I currently writing up the Inquisition listing and an updated "Trading Post" list with ALL prices covered.

What do you mean by splinter rifles being updated?

Finished work on, what seems to be the two most-anticipated listings for Inquisimunda - the Inquisition Cell and Ecclessiarchal Delegation warbands.

You can get the new lists on the Inquisimunda page.

I'm currently working on an updated Trading Post section (for all of you wanting to select items and weapons which aren't in the warband lists) and the Allies listing. I should have it done in the next few weeks, definitely by the end of December.

Enjoy!

Wow, it seems like you've put a lot of work into this! I've had a quick flick through and I certainly like what I see here, I'll have to read everything thoroughly when I get the chance.

First off, thanks for getting all this together! I've had a recent renewed interest in Necromunda/=I=munda in large part to the wonderful efforts by Dakka members, and Migsula's work is probably my main inspiration, as I'm sure it is for many others as well.

I've only briefly scanned over the documents and downloaded them to go over them more thoroughly later, but immediately I see alot of things I like. I will certainly get certainly provide feedback once I've got some games in. But I'll need to get building first! I have all sorts of new ideas thanks to these rules!

How about the player chooses a model to summon the daemon or only a set model can summon the daemon, either way could work. Then that model can summon the daemon by allowing it to possess them for the game. Maybe the possession could work like reserves and the chances increase each turn. Once summon the models is replaced by the daemon and as long as the daemon is alive the the possessed model is not in play. If the daemon is "killed" the possessed model is taken out of action. He rolls on the serious injury table just like he would normally for going out of action. He might die, or just be hurt. Rolls like Bitter Enmity, could prevent him from being possessed again rather than him hating the rival gang.

I dunno that's just off the top of my head and I suppose is more possession rather than daemon summoning, but the general idea could work to make summoning daemons very dangerous, as it should be for lesser skilled mortals like cultists.

Possession such as this is covered under the Psyker section but it might be fun to include the option for non-Psyker models in the current Chaos Coven listing......hmmm...

I like it! great work, loved reading through it all, makes me want to try it out, maybe make some warbands

have you thought about chaos "gifts" for chaos warbands that go above just mutations? or maybe more guard options, such as xeno hunting IGs, highly religious IG, or maybe some more radical IG. They seem to be one of the more characterful armies, but dont have many options in your game.

Yes, I have actually. The initial version of the Coven list had gifts but the whole system was so unweildy and honestly didn't do much of anything that mutations or psychic powers do. So, I scrapped it. While I'd like to include lots of different options, i don't want this system to just be 28mm Inquisitor.

Again, guys, keep the suggestions coming! Your input will help to mold the next versions of everything!
