Shas'la with Pulse Carbine

I recently read the ogre kingdoms book and it meantioned something about the cathayan.
Anyone care to shed some light on them. I know that their kinda middle eastern but like asian as well and from the few pictures they look cool.
Any help is appreciated. Cheers

I FEEL LIKE THE WEIGHT OF THE WORLD HAS BEEN LIFTED OFF MY SHOULDERS NOW THAT EVERYTHING IS UNDER MY CONTROL, NOW THAT YOU ARE ALL SHOES. I NO LONGER HAVE TO ANSWER TO MY REGRETS AND PAST MISTAKES BECAUSE THEY ARE SIMPLY SHOES.

Apparently they're the Fantasy equivallent of Imperial China. There was an old article where some guy converted a Cathayan army from woodelves and empire troops, however I think he got the cultures mixed up as they all looked Japanese.

GW did some Cathayan miniatures a very long time ago.
Cathay is GW's China.
It's a good theme if you want to play empire, but don't like poofy pants.

Cathay was an old European name for China, and go figure it's right where "china" would be if the Fantasy World was earth. And it's also bordered to the north by a giant wall!

As others have said, Cathay is Imperial China.
In the rulebook it mentions Cathay having a giant (or you could say 'great') wall, as well as a dragon emperor. In the Lizardmen book the Slaan are moving the continents and make a big hole in the wall that lets barbarians in.

The 7th Edition book said that Cathay is ruled by the Dragon Emperor, who legend has it can become a dragon if he so wishes.

I just read the second Nagash book and the Lahmian royalty is dealing/trading with the Celestial Empire of Cathay. Pretty interesting, and would like to see it developed further...

do a search for the army book there are several fan books for both Nippon and Cathay (Japan+china) though i dont think any have included a"monkey" type character which for me would be the main reason for starting such an army-he would easily be the most potent character in the game-able to take out greater deamons in cc and more powerfull magic than anyone in the game.

In the new rule book it mentions the elves go to Ind to do a ritual to stop Morrslieb & they fight tiger & monkey men.
