Have you ever considered doing some FW models? I've always thought their stuff looked a lot better than most of the GW models.

I agree, they are lovely models I have a Kreig Macharius Vulcan in my guard army you may like to see, here are some pictures:

This was my first forgeworld tank and the first I heavily experimented with graphite on. I also experimented with thinning down inks with acrylic thinner to create oil stains and the leaked fuel around the fuel caps.

My converted banewolf. I built up the extra canopy over the chemical tanks with etched brass a plasticard.

And my Leman Russ

Anyway back to the Sons of Orar. Here are some more pictures of the models I finished off over the weekend.

Some more shots of the finished sergeant and another marine. The Orar (omega) symbol on his shoulder needs to be tidied up a bit.

Some more pics of the dreadnought. I spent a bit of time making the back of the standard (vaguely) more interesting.

Thanks for all your comments guys! Keep them coming.

Great stuff as usual though I have to admit I think your sons are much better then your cadian troops. The tanks look hawt though man

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House!

Sphess mehreens are indeed better painted because there is not 50+ of them on the table... but those are far beyond stanard of my cadian army... but i dare to say that my kriegsmen can compete to your guard.... at least a little (i hope)

where am I? *looks around* Well i'm...errr...I...I...don't know!

Nice, got a Ven. Dread at the weekend and painted it up...Its seems really small compared to the normal dread, but its just infinitely more detailed :L
Do the extra heads need any work to adjust them to fit a normal marine/termie or do they just slot in??

Theres a tiny detail that bugs me about the Venerable Dreadnaught, the battles etched into the Shoulder are all famous battles of the Ultramarines it looks cool and awesome and I'm being far too niggardly but it bugs me a lot. It's an utterly beautiful model at a standard I couldn't hope to emulate but that tiny thing annoys me. I guess I'm just grumpy about an obviously Ultramarine part in a standard kit. What are you day dreaming about doing with the Sanguinary Guard? Tiny bit of advice when I was revising I always found reading a chapter, paint a colour read a chapter paint a colour worked well. It got me through my GCSE's, AS, A levels and at University dragged me back into the hobby I just had to paint while revising..............

He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. Llamahead you are right. I still think it looks cool though... I was going to greenstuff some of them out but in the end I didn't think it was worth the hassle and it'd look messy as well.

I thought you guys may like to see this; it's the first model I really worked hard on as a single miniature when I was 15.

What do you think? Unfortunately I was too late finishing it for GD that year (2008)

LEEQAEX : you were in the GD 2008 under 16 drawing competition too? Which piece was yours?

As to my drawings, here's one I did when I was bored at school:

Sorry it's a bit blurry... I’ll upload a scan of my GD 2008 piece soon... its saved on the other computer... unfortunately the original was lost/stolen from my local GW whish was somewhat annoying and upsetting.

Well perhaps you can find some comfort in knowing your work as good enough to commit a misdemeanor (or felony) for... Or whatever the equivalent in British law is called. I'm having a hard enough time keeping Canadian law, and American law separate in my head. I wish I had considered that complication before deciding to go to school in Texas.

Imperial Monkey I'm 24 and will probably never paint stuff like that don't worry. Sons of Orar I'm glad you took my comments in the spirit their intended and I hope you'll take my revision advice as well!

Here are some pics of the whole army so far including all the unpainted stuff. They’re on my board I knocked up in one day when I was bored.

Sorry about the blur I think there may have been some grease on the lens of the camera.

Horus Aximand: I guess I’m actually the same age as you... I’m 17. And dude that sucks I had the same problem in GD that year. My tom bombadil was on a base that was too big.
